The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is filled with all sorts of fun things to do, but Dragon Shouts are some of the most epic things you can play with in the game. With our Dragon Shouts guide, you'll be able to find out where you can acquire all 20 Shouts, what they do, and why you need all of them to truly enhance your role playing experience.

Before we begin, let's talk about some Skyrim lore and what the Shouts actually are. Basically, a Shout is the utterance of one or more Words of Power in order to achieve a specific magical or unique effect. Shouts let you do things like strike foes with a blast of force, stun them, call down lightning storms, and more. As a Dragonborn, you can use these shouts that all consist of up to three Words of Power.

In order to learn the Words of Power you must find Word Walls which are spread all throughout Skyrim. Each word is powerful, but for each additional word you know in the shout, it will become that more powerful. The trick is that you'll always learn them in the order of the three-word final phrase, so it doesn't matter which Word Wall you visit first. Another thing to remember about Words of Power is that after you learn them, you have to unlock them with Dragon Souls that you acquire after you kill a dragon.

Now that you know all about Word Walls and Shouts, here is our list of all of the Dragon Shouts in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Of course, these contain minor spoilers so if you don’t want to ruin your Skyrim experience then consider yourself warned!

    Corrections:

Ice Form - The Saarthal word wall requires the Under Saarthal quest from Winterhold College. It is the only way the entrance to Saarthal will be unlocked. The Forbidden Legend quest does not provide access to Saarthal.

Fire Breath - The Throat of the World word is given as part of the main quest line. Paarthunax activates that word on the word wall.

Elemental Fury - Does not work if your weapon is enchanted, as it is considered an enchantment itself.

Slow Time - Hag's End is accessible without the DB Radiant Quest.

I have a shout of my own, but doesn't come from my mouth. It comes from another end, it's smelly and sometimes it can be silent.

    I got 5 saves running!

    1. A dual weapon wielding Male Redguard
    2. A Female Wood Elf, stealthy Archer
    3. A two handed weapon wielding Male Orc
    4. A dual spell casting, conjuring Male High Elf
    5. A shield in one hand, spell casting in the other, Female Imperial Battlemage.

So I hope to completely finish this game before The Elder Scrolls VI.

Can you get the word without being on the guild specific quests? I destroyed the Dark Brotherhood and I don't want to join the thieves guild.
