Buying a video game for a friend or family member can be daunting, but thanks to G4 you won't have to worry about what system they have. We put together a list of the best game for the holidays, no matter the console. That's right these games are all multiplatform titles. Check out this Holiday Guide for games you should get the gamer in your life, especially if that gamer is you.
Check out the best multiplatform games below.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim: If you don't want to see the person you're buying a gift for again in the next few months, Skyrim is the game for them. This open-world RPG offers hundreds of hours of gameplay and everyone's experience will be different. You can pick up this title on the Xbox 360, PS3 or the PC.
Mortal Kombat: The 9th installment of the Mortal Kombat series retells the story of the first three games. All your favorite characters are back and more importantly, all of your favorite over-the-top fatalities are back too!
Portal 2: If there's a gamer on your list who doesn't enjoy shooting people in the face, in video games, Portal 2 is the perfect game. Hell, Portal 2 will be adored by gamers who do enjoy shooting people in the face, again, in video games. The first-person puzzler comes out on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations: Everyone's favorite assassin is back for another game. Desmond is in a coma; trapped in limbo as his ancestor Ezio. While exploring Constantinople, he occasionally channels the memories of another ancestor Altair. The assassin in your life will love this!
Dark Souls: If the person you want to buy a game for has a weird appreciation for pain and darkness then man, do we have the game for you. Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, is one of the most challenging, and rewarding games ever. And lucky for you, unlike Demon's Souls, this gem is multiplatform with releases on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Batman: Arkham City: The caped-crusader made an appearance on the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC this year. Batman: AC is an open-world super hero game and it is a serious contender for game of the year. You, or your friend, have to check this game out.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Of course Activision's multi-million dollar first-person shooter is multiplatform. Soap, Price and Yuri are trying to save the world, and that's just the single player. Multiplayer is where it's at. This FPS is out on the PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC.
Rage: idSoftware's first game in way too long is a great shooter. The game leaves a little to be wanted in the story department but who cares when you have some of the best gun mechanics in a game.

Portal 2 was an excellent puzzle shooter with excellent story, great level design, and awesome 2-player co-op (both offline and online).
For me, it's my game of the year!
