If you're looking to spice up your Holiday season with some hot downloading action then look no further than our Holiday Gift Guide for Downloadable Games. We've gathered some of the best games for XBLA, PSN, and PC (Steam) so you can buy a killer gift on a budget. I think it might be hard to gift downloadable console games but you could always give the gift of points. Better yet, you could buy yourself some downloadable presents.

Holiday Buyers Guide 2011 - Best Downloadable Games Part 1 »

Keep reading for a list of must have DL games.

Trenched aka Iron Brigade: Double Fine has decided to tread in the waters of mechs, turrets and mechanical trench warfare. The game formerly known as Trenched focuses on a re-imagining of post WWI where trenches have mechanical legs, making them mobile. Tim Schafer made it, so you should buy it!

Toy Soldiers: Cold War: Playing with your toys has never been so fun, or violent. The game offers an innovative, and plastic, twist on the RTS genre.

Ilomilo - Ilomilo is one of those games that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It hammers home the idea that team work and friendship can conquer anything. The game focuses on two friends' struggle to find each other. I'm crying already.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet: There's not many negative things we can say about this title. It's title is kind of long. There's one. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a beautiful, clever, Metroidvania style “shooter”. Spanning over several hours, this game will serve as a pleasant escape from whatever worries you.

Torchlight -- The designer behind Diablo 1 and 2 made an amazing dungeon crawler with a copious amount of loot. Are you shocked? Torchlight is one the best downloadable games out there and it will do more than hold you over for Diablo 3.

These games didn't make it to X-Play's official list but you should still check them out.

InFamous 2: Festival of Blood: If more inFamous is what you crave, inFamous 2: Festival of Blood is just the bite size Cole MacGrath snack you need. Get it? Bite? Oh, I didn't tell you the game was about vampires yet; now do you get it?

Bastion: Bastion is a mix between a RPG and an action game. It offers numerous weapon options, upgrades, and difficult challenges. Plus, the entire game is narrated so you'll never get lonely!
