The Creative Assembly's Total War series offers one of the most intricate and historically accurate real-time strategy experiences in gaming, and the March 2011 release Total War: Shogun 2 is no exception. Now Sega has revealed that Shogun 2 will be getting a standalone expansion pack in March 2012, called Fall of the Samurai.
The pack picks things up 400 years after the events of Shogun 2, opening on 19th century Japan during the last Shogunate. In addition to six new playable clans, players can expect to see the modern weapons of the period from American, British and French factions as well as all new siege battle mechanics, an assortment of new units and a completely revamped multiplayer mode. That's as far as the reveal goes for now, but expect to hear more soon about pricing and the new features.
