Assassin's Creed 3's location and plot may be reader's choice. According to Empire State Gamer, a survey has been circulating prompting its applicants to choose the historical period of "one of the next" Assassin's Creed game. Some of the choices include "The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China" and "The rise of the Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome."
Keep reading for a list of all the choices.
And the choices are...
- The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China.
- The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England.
- The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt.
- The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors.
- The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American revolution of the XVIII century.
- The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communist during the Russian Revolution.
- The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan.
- The rise of the Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome.
As someone who was given a word count to hit for all my essays in high school, I have to say this survey used some top notch adjectives. Wording aside, these are all amazing choices for a video games but not necessarily for Assassin's Creed. I think the invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors and the confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American revolution would make incredibly interesting, and dare I say educational, games, but Desmond should not be involved.
The direction I'd like to see Assassin's Creed 3 go involves the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China, and Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan. Assassin's Creed meets Jade Empire or Shogun: Total War? Yes, please. Ancient Egypt would make sense too.
Where do you want the next Assassin's Creed game to take place?

IMHO:
Rome has been done.
Russia has been covered by the comics.
Any asian country involving assassins suggests ninjas....that's been done in gaming already.
Egypt sounds good, but since desmond is headed to NY, there doesnt seem to be much connection since they're no longer looking for an apple of eden.
The american revolution seems to be the only way to bring the assassin/templar war to this side of the world. Not to mention the fact that Desmond was presumably raised in an american assassin camp. this is what could link the assassins, templars, the Ones That Came Before and Desmond back together from halfway across the globe for a grand finale

My opinion is that a Russian assassin would be completely off the wall bad ass but a Japanese assassin would be better because of the skills they could acquire from having learned the ancient arts of ninjitsu but either way i am so excited that Desmond is back and we will step into another badass and yet mysterious assassin. In no way will i dought Ubisoft and have the feeling they would let us down on this very big sequal. Im looking forward to AClll and I hope this one will be as good or yet even better than the last 4... Assassins forever!

Russia all the way!

It's amazing only one person has said The French Revolution. Assassin's Creed III should logically take place during a really pivotal time period. The first game was during The Crusades, the second during the Renaissance and continued the story arc to the rise of the Ottoman Empire. I think the next biggest landmark they can hit is The French Revolution, which also showcases a different culture.

I prefer Asia (China and Japan).
Though, adding Russia sounds pretty good, since they're so close to each other.

I'm sure others have said this, but how is the French Revolution not listed? That ish is full of blood and intrigue.

I don't care to see it take place in any part of our history anymore. I want the -last- installment to only be in modern time with Desmond Miles taking on the current Templar's with a regular current gun, throwing grenades, not bombs. Still assassinating people the old fashioned way since he does have the hidden blade. I want them to figure out a scenario where he has to infiltrate Abstergo Industries or something and finally kill that damn bastard from the first Assassins Creed that kept making you get in the Animus and lay ruin to the whole company that current Assassins fear and loath.
Flyingjuden
i say it should take place when the east trading company existed. pirates anybody!!!!

The rise of the Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome.

Seeing as how the Russian scene was already told within the the Assassin's Creed story line through the medium of the comic I would rule this out. I also think that the rise of Cesar in Ancient Rome would still be pretty repetitive, even though it's in a new time period. Egypt would be a fresh new twist on things, but probably not for Desmond; neither would the Spanish Conquistadors. Looking back on the Revolutionary War, I couldn't really see an Assassin freerunning through New England, seeing as how we were still getting up on our feet and we didn't really have a lot to free run on. So i would have to say for my choice i would think that either Medieval China, Feudal Japan, or Ancient Egypt would be the best fit seeing as how these were the places at that time that were doing a lot of the inventing and breakthroughs.

It's going to take place in the new world, every other place that has been mentioned is used in OTHER lore for assassin's creed, nothing having to do with desmond and his bloodline.

The introduction of Shao Jun in AC: Embers makes me suspect China may be involved. Unless they left that thread in there to lead into possible future installments. And don't forget, this trilogy focuses on Desmond and his search for the vault to prevent the cataclysm. But even after he succeeds, the Assassin's will still be at war with the Templars.
And for those mentioning Russia, you should check out the comics, AC: The Fall and AC: The Chain. Both focus on a main character whose ancestor was a part of the Russian Revolution.
Personally, I'm hoping for more of a focus on Desmond this time around since this will be his last game. Wherever it takes place will probably depend on where the vault they need to go to is located. Cause chances are the vault will be somewhere close to that and opening it will involve entering the Animus.

I think it should be in present time with Desmond thats how it left off. If going to do other times an places means having to do another game before AC3 an back to the animas. since he out an done with it Desmond all the way with all the things he learned threw going threw Ezio an Altiar's past. As for where? well looked like a cave in the mountains at he end of the last so i would have to say somewhere in the himala's or out in a vast country, like greece or back to the actual Assassin's castle. Since he as already been to Venice, Rome, Italy, Monta what ever castle, Florence, Jerusalam, may as well have it somewhere he ant been yet tieing into the hiddin places of the apples round the world to completly answer all of Desmonds unanswered questions from all the adventures.

Either China or britain! 3rd being Russia!
Chaos2106
Russia or Ancient Rome.
Quixotic_Noble
but my choice would be medieval China or industrial England for change of pace.

Really the question is, coming from someone who has Revelations on the back burner, where the focus of the story and how much of the origins or destiny of Desmond have yet to be revealed. If Revelations pretty much answered all the "Adam and Eve" origin, then the local is truly up for grabs. I figured the next historical epoch would be a time closer to the origins or perhaps the future in being closer to the destiny of Desmond.

Russian revolution, I'm very curious to see what story would they make up, out of all the games i would have to say assassin's creed has the best and most create story line of all. Also it would be pretty "cool" to wonder and hide bodies in the brutal ice storms, it would also give us somewhat a chance to know how communism began.
