Assassin's Creed 3's location and plot may be reader's choice. According to Empire State Gamer, a survey has been circulating prompting its applicants to choose the historical period of "one of the next" Assassin's Creed game. Some of the choices include "The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China" and "The rise of the Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome."
Keep reading for a list of all the choices.
And the choices are...
- The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China.
- The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England.
- The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt.
- The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors.
- The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American revolution of the XVIII century.
- The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communist during the Russian Revolution.
- The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan.
- The rise of the Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome.
As someone who was given a word count to hit for all my essays in high school, I have to say this survey used some top notch adjectives. Wording aside, these are all amazing choices for a video games but not necessarily for Assassin's Creed. I think the invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors and the confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American revolution would make incredibly interesting, and dare I say educational, games, but Desmond should not be involved.
The direction I'd like to see Assassin's Creed 3 go involves the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China, and Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan. Assassin's Creed meets Jade Empire or Shogun: Total War? Yes, please. Ancient Egypt would make sense too.
Where do you want the next Assassin's Creed game to take place?

What about the planet NIRN from Skyrim?

Have Ezio again! But this time older, and I mean REALLY older, he could do epic freerunning in a wheelchair around his retirement home.

I'm super stoked for this game! If it took place in the American revolultion, I'd Imagine it the player running about boston or new york, The only cities that are really big enough to support any sort of extented free-running, But you would switch between the assassin and Desmond, And switch between the past and the modern times, That would be really cool, seeing landmarks change and others stay the same. With totally different tactics nneeded to deal with different guards and enviroments.
From a plot point of view, It should focus on the establishment of the american arm of the templars, the ones that desmond in the present would be fighting, But I think as a plot twist, The british should be the good guys for once. And make a less one sided conflict, Americans being the good guys is to mainstream, something in ACI avoided by playing as a Syrian.
Most importantly, Just think of the cool moves you can do with a bayonet!
Either way, I have every confidence that Ubisoft pull off the best Assassin Creed yet, If not the best freeworld game ever.

the fall of Russia story line in the comics books was cool. But I wouldn't mind japan for the ninjas and samurai and the fall of dynasty thing.

The only thing that would make sense as a setting for Assassin's Creed 3 would pretty much just be 2012. Everything in the previous games has been leading to this moment, the time when Desmond finally becomes the "greatest assassin". They have been giving us little glimpses of playing as Desmond in the last few games, and now that Ezio's and Altair's stories are finally concluded, it is time to see a wholely Desmond game. It would make absolutely zero sense to bring in an entirely new character for what is supposed to be the climatic game that completes Desmond's story arc. Assassin's Creed 3 should be solely set in 2012. Now that being said, future titles in the Assassin's Creed franchise after AC3 could most definitely go back to visiting historical settings, with possibly a new person in the animus with a new story.

I doubt it will go back in history, we are following the lost artifacts through history, so to go before the Renaissance doesn't really make sense. I think its going to be US revolution or US Civil War. The tie between Europe, where the whole order arose, and the US, where Desmond was raised as an assassin and where the templars are currently working, needs explained.
assassin-shhhh
Why isn't anyone mentioning playing as Adam in the First Civilization. Oh yea, 'cause most of you are thick.

No Japan nor China!

No French Revolution? I believe this to be the logical choice. If the whole series has been devoted to developing the conflict between philosophical liberals, the Assassins, and philosophical conservatives, the Templars, doesn't it make sense to set the final game during the event in which this clash was brought to the fore? The French Revolution not only led to the rise of Napoleon, the institution of the Napoleonic code, and the Napoleonic wars which engulfed the continent, but the politicization of Europe, the growth of nationalism, and the erosion of absolute monarchy.

What about a modern era assassins game.

Oh PLEASE give us a semi-Steampunk Assassin's Creed!!! If not I vote Ancient Egypt/Sumeria since that's where all this started (referring to all humanity's origin)

Im going to be way pissed if it goes to Japan or China. But the invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors and the confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American revolution would also be terrible
Jabo96
has anyone thought maybe Mongolians??? how bad ass would a Mongolian assassin be?
Price.....
Either Feudal Japan, or the invasion of the Americas by the Spanish
Poke!
I don't really care where it takes place as long as:
1. more time playing as Desmond in modern times
2. No Ezio!!!!!
3. New equipment, ungrades etc.
4. If there are horses.... fix the damn animations on them they look stupid!!!
5. Fix the glitches with climbing and wall catching
6. Sicker ways to kill/ assassinate
7. A female main character would be cool for once!!!!
If I had to pick a place it would be either Japan (Cause you get ninja gear), Wild West America, or possibly the Egypt one (I love Egyptian stuff!!!!)

The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan, the advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England, and the rise of the Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome would be my top 3 choicest. Rome, especially because in all the games your climbing over roman ruins. But all the options are awesome. One thing however, can you please get rid of the part where your a general in a street wars. It was way too repetitive, especially when they come back and reclaim the towers every 20 minutes :(. Everything else was pretty good with "Revelations".

France, musketeers, swords and guns but no real high tech weapons, I would be down for that... not sure I like china or japan, Main character doesn't really give off a "I have asian relatives" vibe , but hey he doesn't seem arabic either so what do I know....

How about a wold wide tour?
backerman
How about anicent Maya in south america? their doomsday predict 2012... so he should go there to find out.

The series is about assassins... that means the only logical place to go, as Desmond nears his destiny in 2012, is the ultimate assassins- Ninjas. Thus Japan seems almost mandatory.
