Here's a quick update for you fans of classic Nintendo games. While the company continues to make good on its promise to release a regular flow of downloadable games to the online eShop, the bulk of the selection so far has left some people wanting. This Thursday's release ought to please a few though: Metroid 2: The Return of Samus.
Nintendo confirms the news in a morning press release, revealing that the Game Boy classic will be coming in its original 2D form. No 3D Classics treatment for this one. The press update makes a point of mentioning that Metroid 2 "lays the foundation for the smash hit Super Metroid." Hopefully it also lays the foundation for that SNES game's eShop release as well.

Thanks but no thanks. This collector still has the working cart and a GB to play it on.

What would be even better is if they remade 'Return of Samus' like they remade 'Metroid' into 'Zero Mission'. However It's still great to see it make return after all this time.

I must have completed this game like 3-5 times when I was a kid.
I even made maps in a notebook.
If you haven't played it, I suggest getting it.

Who cares, what a waste of Nintendos money. Why not do it on consoles? Wake up Nintendo, us Americans like our consoles, yea, you remember those things, don't cha?

Thought for a second this was the harbinger of the 10 GBA games until I realized it was original Gameboy.
Anyways, an old-fashion Metroid (basically a platformer) is always welcomed.
