Sega confirmed the coming of Yakuza 5 at the tail end of the summer, but that's pretty much all we got at the time. All that changes today with some new revelations from Famitsu (via Andriasang), which reports that the upcoming game -- still PlayStation 3 only -- will be visiting five different cities in Japan.
Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka will all be in play when the TBA game eventually arrives. The story picks up after the events of Yakuza 4, which came to Japan in March 2010 and then the U.S. in March 2011. Series regular Kazuma Kiryu will be the star, though it's not clear if other characters will be playable as well. Beyond that, fans can expect to see shorter load times and "seamless conversations and battles."
There's no release plan for the game just yet, as development is still in an early phase.
