The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is full of enough content to keep even the most hardcore gamers here at G4 playing it nonstop since its release. When we're not slaving away over a hot computer to bring you tons of Skyrim guides, news, and videos we've been exploring northern Tamriel ourselves. Just about everyone at the G4 office has created their own Skyrim character, you probably have too, so grab some Black-Briar mead and read on as we embrace our nerdiness to bring you some of our Skyrim character biographies.
Seeing as I spent a couple hundred hours as a handlebar mustached gunslinger dude in Fallout 3, I wanted to make sure my Skyrim experience was as different as possible, so I decided to go with a badass Imperial outlaw chick on the run from a dark and sordid past. The demons and misdeeds of Ralia Noreth’s (That’s right. I like to give my characters full names. What of it?) past follow her wherever she goes, as symbolized by the deep scars across her left cheek and dead left eye, the origins of which she has never, and will never, reveal. Some say it was a parting gift from a jilted lover, others believe she was snatched from her crib as an infant by a bear and somehow managed to survive the gruesome attack. Think whatever you like. Just know that should you cross her path and survive, it was only because she decided to let you live…At least, that’s what I like to believe as I’m hacking and burning my way across Skyrim.

Race: High Elf
So Elric was just minding his own business, chasing rabbits and moose when suddenly he got jumped by Imperials and thrown in the back of a cart. He doesn't really know whether or not he should be pro-Imperial or Stormcloak, they both seem like dicks, and he's quite upset that everybody keeps telling him to his face that elves are dirty creatures. He's still pretty green, but he brought down a dragon, mostly because everyone around him was shooting at it. Elric is very much in demand by all the Sabre tooth Tigers as they're constantly chasing him down for a taste. He longs for a day that he'll find a better shock spell than Sparks or Lightning Bolt, but isn't sure something like that exists which has put him a bit into a depression.
Elric lives alone in Tamriel with no wife, no kids, and keeps a rare collection of Daedric figurines. He is the proud author of the Hugo-award winning Ulfr the Blind's book.

Fourth in line for the sacred lands of the Grimscar clan and first to escape the judging gaze of the clan matriarch, Zander set his sights on the arid north to find his fate and fortune. With a quick tongue, apt fingers, and an affinity with the arcane arts; Zander funded his travels through minor quests and unsuspecting pockets. The Bard’s College became a second home to him as he mingled with both royalty and thieves. Not to be confined by any one category, this up-and-coming champion of Skyrim uses anything and every skill at hand to accomplish his goals.
He may have a touch of the dragon blood in him, but Zander spends his days exploring nature, taking in the local culture, and meeting new people. Zander loves to laugh. He’s not looking to wear the Amulet of Mara, but he could use a companion to help explore this new land and take on the weight of the world. Warrior women looking to take on unexpected quests and lots of damage should apply. No smokers or orcs, please. A new fetch quest has just opened up – for Zander’s heart. Will you accept?

The Skyrim character I created is a High Elf Battlemage. The magicka bonus the High Elves get is an amazing jump start in the game. As a 1st edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons player, I was always annoyed at the rules barring magic users from using bladed weapons or wearing armor. Reading the descriptions “Battlemage and War Wizard” in the Skyrim strategy guide just leapt out at me as something fun to try playing as.

I named the character Whelan Blackmoor which, in proper geek fashion, is a triple homage. Michael Whelan is a fantasy artist who has done some incredible pieces. Blackmoor is a combination of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple and Rainbow (who wrote an amazing song about a wizard called “Stargazer”). The intentional misspelling of Blackmore to Blackmoor is a nod to Elric of Melniboné author Michael Moorcock, for whom Michael Whelan did many cover art pieces for. I intentionally created the character as a buffed out, muscular version of an elf to make him stand out. He is apparently a real bad-ass, because while playing last night, I realized he had an arrow stuck in his arm, from when he was shot by bandits when playing the previous night! I understand this is a graphical glitch that will go away the next time he is shot at with arrows, but it is rather cool to see in game for multiple days of playing.

I'd like to introduce to you Safir. She's a level 17 Wood Elf and gentlemen and werewolves, she's single and thanks to the Amulet of Mara, is ready to mingle. Safir, which means Sapphire in Croatian, enjoys spending her time between Dragonsreach and Riften. Her hobbies include archery and duel "Palpatining bitches" as she calls it. For the unhip, that’s dual Spark. Her preferred method of murder is to sneak up without being detected. I guess Wood Elves do it from behind too.
Safir is currently wearing Elven armor she looted from the bodies of these snobby, Nazi-esque Thalmor Justicars who were asking for it, really. She's a nature lover, dog elf, and animal activist. Her weaknesses are Honeybrew meed, flawless rubies and ice.

La Loca is a Bosmer assassin and thief. Exiled from her homeland for her unspeakable associations, Loca is a proud member of the Dark Brotherhood and the Riften Thieves Guild. She serves the Dark Mother, channels the chaos and ruthlessness of Nature, lives in shadows and stops her victims’ hearts with poison tipped arrows. Also: She will steal your potatoes.

Spinn is still trying to find her identity in the vast world of Skyrim. Sure she just became a Dragonborn, but at a lowly level 6 she isn't quite sure where her journey should take her yet. After awakening the Dragon Shouts abilities deep within her she found that magic in and of itself is interesting and potentially more potent than a sword or bow. She's now making her way towards the Mage College in Winterhold to learn more about Destruction Magic in order to overcome everything that the world has to throw at her. (P.S. Can you tell who's playing on a PC?)

Born into a Middle Class family of High Elves living in the city of Cheydinhall in Cyrodill, DanFo was always a restless boy. Growing up, he would train with his sword and shield, preparing to one day venture out on his own. That day came, and DanFo took his gear and headed north to Skyrim. How he lost his eye, he doesn't like to say. Now in the North, DanFo has set out to make a name for himself by any means necessary. Thief, Assassin, Battlemage, Werewolf and Rebel all describe DanFo.

This my pure mage, callous badass of destruction with a soft spot for making deliveries for strangers. He’s wearing his favorite gear, the Archmage Robes and the Morokei Dragon Priest Mask. Sometimes he falls victim to a silly bug that causes the hood of the mask and the hood of the robe to conflict with one another, resulting in a totally invisible character walking around in empty robes. Funny to look at, but nobody really reacts to it in the game. The Nords are a stoic people.
