Metal Gear Solid 5 has been announced and the legendary Hideo Kojima will be developing the next installment. We currently don't have any details surrounding the next MGS game, but it's probably safe to assume that it'll be coming to a PlayStation (we're not sure if that means PlayStation 3 or 4 though), as the first details of the game are scheduled to be revealed as part of the December issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK.
When we have more info to go on we'll be sure to let you know about it. Until then, let's hear some speculation about the new MGS. Where do you want it to be set? Will it feature cardboard boxes?

Dear X-Play, please pass this message on to Kojima-san.....Kojima-san, When you finally decided to release this. If you could, please also take into consideration on releasing DLC for the game. Extra Missions (Big Long Missions/Chapters!!), weapons, camo...ect. Please take into consideration the example of Borderlands the game and all the DLC that they released for that game. The DLC they released for that game just added over all replay play value and a better gaming experience for the gamer in that universe Gearbox created. Also if you could release Misson package creator (and/or) VR missions/creator!! That would be guaranteed, game of the year!!
Also, I know this is a long shot. We could use more BOOBIES in the game.

I don't see how Snake's story arc could continue after MGS4. If Snake absolutely HAS to be in it, I think it should take place between the events of MGS2 and MGS 4, otherwise it would probably have to tie in somehow with Metal Gear Rising, depending on how that plays out.
BTW, what's the deal with Rising? Can't we have that first before you announce anymore Metal Gear games? kthxbai

Hideo Loves working on game for new systems he alway brings out the best in them. and if it comes out for PS4 and is a Launch title Sony can just take my money. I'd do anything for MGS "anything".

i think MGS:Rising is multi console yea? though Hideo isnt developing it, just helping i believe, so maybe MGS5 will go back to being a exclusive.
and while i really really really want this game, and im not in any hurry for PS4, i can see it going to that. MGS4 was one of the first games to really push the Ps3, and for MGS5 to be on the same system, wouldnt do it any justice. im guessing they will put it on the Ps4 and push that console to its limits as well and be one of the first to do so.

I would hope to see the beginning of the game Old Snake getting a tip of some sort of cure, or at least a drug that postpones the disease like it did to Naomi/Vamp. Then the rest of the game he'd play through as regular Snake again. And it should REALLY be much after MGS 4

Definitely PlayStation 4, no way some game this big would go for the PlayStation 3, let alone the Xbox 360.
