Nintendo has a lot going on this week. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword comes out on November 20 -- days away -- and to get you hyped, Nintendo wants to give you the chance to play the game early. But that's not all. The Big N is also partnering with those gaming wags over at Penny Arcade for a web-comic, as well as attending the L.A. Auto Show to "unveil an exclusive collaboration" with West Coast Customs for a Mario Kart vehicle "that bridges together the iconic video game racing series and one of the most recognized names in the custom automotive industry."
- Playing Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword early: On Saturday, November 19, Nintendo will host a launch event at its flagship retail store in New York City, Nintendo World. Nintendo-heads will take part in a number of exciting events and entertainments, including the unveiling of a Master Sword replica, trivia challenges and a The Legend of Zelda historical showcase. All that, and prizes too! But most importantly, you'll get a jump on everyone else in the world by purchasing the game a day early. Sweet deal, no? Doors open at 9 AM in Rockefeller Center, NYC.
- New Zelda Comic: Nintendo has teamed up with team behing Penny Arcade (and PAX), for an original webcomic based on the series. “I was 14 when I first played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past,” said Penny Arcade artist Mike Krahulik. “That was 20 years ago, and today I am introducing my son to The Legend of Zelda. The opportunity to work with Nintendo to create a Zelda comic is not only an incredible honor, but quite literally a childhood dream come true." Page one is live right now.
- Custom Car Collaboration: On Thursday, at the L.A. Auto Show, Nintendo and West Coast Customs will unveil... something. We don't know what, but we'll let you know on Thursday, after the official press event commences at the big car show. Speaking of, if you're at the L.A. Auto show, visit the Nintendo booth and play Mario Kart 7 in advance of its Dec. 4 release.
