Square Enix has announced the pre-order bonuses as well as a beautiful collector's edition for Final Fantasy 13-2. Along with the full game, the CE will come with a 4-disc soundtrack and a 20-page collection of gorgeous concept art. The art collection will feature "a variety of never-before-seen illustrations, environments and more." It'll set you back a mere $79.99.
Depending on where you pre-order the game from you can get a few different exclusives. If you pre-order from GameStop you'll receive an alternate costume for Serah, visible throughout the game. If you pre-order from Amazon you'll get access to a unique coliseum battle against boss enemy “Omega,” who will be able to join your party if you can defeat him. Finally, if you pre-order from Best Buy you'll get a collectible hardcover book that details the original story that ties the events between FF13 and FF13-2 together.
Final Fantasy 13-2 is releasing for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 31, 2012.

No, the pre-order situation in the US is absolutely horrible. If you look at pre-order bonuses around the world, most often than not, all retailers have the same ones. Its unusual a company will have something that others don't. Whats really too bad is we don't have that awesome steelbook here in the US, like UK and Australia get. The US CE looks like a mix of the European CE and Crystal Edition.

Not exactly lame. Look at any game and their pre-order 'bonuses'. Almost every bonus is released later on as DLC or a DLC bundle. We may miss out on the Best Buy book, but I expect the costume and special battle to be released not long after initial launch.
