This news should not surprise you if you have even a passing interest in video games, but Activision confirmed yesterday that the next Call of Duty game is planned for release in 2012.
"As we focus on 2012, we have a strong product pipeline which features a minimum of two highly-anticipated new titles from Blizzard Entertainment, including Diablo III, and a new Call of Duty game from Activision Publishing," Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement that went along with the company's quarterly financial statement.
There is no word yet on what the game will be sub-titled or any other details, but if I were you, I'd expect a first-person military shooter that focuses on dialed in multiplayer. Based on previous release schedule, it probably won't be called "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4." Instead, it will be more like "Call of Duty: INSERT NAME," but these details are just speculation, of course.
In further quarterly financial statement news, Activision reported quarterly revenues of $754 million, up 16 percent from $650 million for the same period the year before. The publisher also posted a net profit of $148 million for the quarter, up year-over-year from $51 million.

It sickens when I hear people saying that COD is rubbish because its always the same game, they forgot to think that thats exactly what COD is about, its a first person shooter with fast and intense levels with strict boundaries, this allows the game to always flow and keep you in the action. This is what COD is all about and no one else does it better or to such a high standard of graphics, gameplay and varying surroundings, you simply cannot dismiss COD just because you think its bit repetitive, because this is what has made the franchise such as success.

They need to remake WaW. Ya after seeing the trailers I knew that they had not changed a single damn thing. They are still running on the same engine since MW. The only thing that they updated was the ability to support more people on the server and 60fps and improved audio.

I wonder what this is going to be. I say Treyarch would be first choice for developer and it will be Black Ops 2, or Future Warfare. I will watch for this one but might not be excited.

They need to keep making the single player better. They should have a bunch of skyscrapers and other buildings to collapse at your leisure and maybe 3rd person view.
