I don't usually get too excited over branded console and handheld bundles, but a few eye-catching ones always pop up around the holiday season. A few months ago it was that sweet, sweet Star Wars-themed Xbox 360. Now it's Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda-branded 3DS, pictured above.
An image of the bundle's box -- the package includes both the black-and-gold 3DS and a copy of the Ocarina of Time 3DS remake -- is up at CVG, which reports that a release is planned for Europe this year. There's no mention of a planned release for any other region, so we've reached out to Nintendo for confirmation. What a lovely holiday gift this would make.

If I wanted to have the 3DS this is the one I would buy! I still haven't decided because of the pros and cons that I've heard.

The 3DS has a built-in feature that will transfer your purchases over. It's in the same area as the DSi transfer. It will be available when the November Update arrives sometime this month.

Now that I think about this more, it's a rather genius way for Nintendo to unload re-branded stock of the original 3DS, in order to clear out that stock and to make way for the revamped design (that includes the right circle pad built in)... if that ever comes out.

Don't forget that 'Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance' is coming out on the system soon. The trailer has already been released; Neku from 'The World Ends With You' will make a cameo appearance in Traverse Town XD

I won't lie, the entire reason I picked up a Nintendo DS was for the Legend of Zelda gold version that came with the Phantom Hourglass. That being said for as nice as this 3DS looks I just can't pick it up knowing that at some point that obnoxious tumor of an attachment called "Circle Pad Pro" will be plugged into it. Kind of mars the overall aesthetic beauty they were going for.

I had no desire to purchase the 3DS after playing it in Best Buy near launch. That might have just changed with this epic pic. This is the stuff nintendo needs to do near launch and or faster. Sales would have been through the roof

Never thought much of themed consoles or handhelds, but that is neat. If I didn't already have a 3ds I would still wait to see if they add a second analogue stick to avoid the addon one.
