Mass Effect 3

BioWare fans who fancy the Internet: stop reading everything right now (after this, of course) and stay offline until early March, 2012. The Canada-based developer took to its forums yesterday to alert fans to the fact that some "internal story files" for Mass Effect 3 have leaked.

While there's no mention of how this happened, BioWare's Jesse Houston notes that the leaked content is "out of date and does not reflect the final story experience." There are probably at least a few key points from the leak that will carry into the final game though, so the smart move is to just stay away.I won't be linking to the leaked info -- haven't even searched for it, in fact -- but you can probably track it down easily enough if you REALLY want to be spoiled.

No links eh? You didn't have any problems spreading around leaked info from Skyrim.

Hmm, BIoware fire anybody of importance in the past? Sounds like somebody on the inside was working on the game to some capacity early on and got fed up with them.

Oh well, thankfully I never click the links to anything denoting spoilers.

Although some of the story elements are "out of date," the overall arc is likely similar to what will be in the final product. The response is very similar to the one that was given over the Gears of War 3 leak and unless Bioware is willing to rewrite the game and include some far off deus ex machina I can't see big changes coming. With so many established characters and plotlines to resolve and knowing that Shepard will be visiting each major races homeworld there really are only so many ways the story can go.

Personally though I'm kind of hoping that the real leader and first scout of the Reapers turns out to be Conrad Verner. Yep, he pulled a Ben Linus on all of us.

They deny it's the final story.
Months later we find out it IS the story.
