For the most part, people just sort of chuckled when they saw that Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike was hired to direct a feature film based loosely on the first game in the Phoenix Wright video game series. Then this ridiculous and remarkably faithful trailer came along to save the day.
The above minute-and-a-half-long trailer is all in Japanese, but it speaks the universal language of visual references. If you've played a Phoenix Wright game before, or even just seen video of it in action, you will immediately recognize what's going on here. The movie may or may not turn out to be a steaming turd, but at least we know it'll look right!

This looks to be shaping up as one of the greatest video game to movie releases of all time. I really do hope that English subtitles will be an option if we get a localization; this looks far too close to the original source material to pass up! :-D

First Phoenix Wright gets into MvC3 and now gets a movie that actually looks like it has promise? The Phoenix Wright fan base is powerful indeed...

No thanks, not dissing on it or anything but I think there's way better movies out there, From both japanese and korean film makers.

I give this to the japanese, they take games seriously, and their movies, while it may look a little campy, its faithful. and I will give ANY game movie made by them a shot... it's the rest of the world that screws them up... mainly Ewwy Boll, but others have too.
