Minecraft Adds Baby Animals

Two weeks from now, Minecraft fans from all over will make their way to Las Vegas to celebrate the long-awaited "final release" version of the PC game created by Markus "Notch" Persson and his development studio, Mojang. There's more to celebrate than that, however; the game pushed past four million copies sold earlier today, Gamasutra reports.

It's an impressive feat for any game to move so many copies. This is especially true when it's a PC game you're talking about and even more especially true when said PC game has existed as a frequently updated beta release since May 2009.

Making the figure even more remarkable is the fact that Minecraft celebrated its three million sales milestone just two months ago, and its two million sales milestone in April. None of these figures account for the Android version of the game, which was released in August.

If you haven't boarded the Minecraft train, you might as well do so while there's still time. It currently costs $21.95 to buy the game in its beta form from Minecraft.net, but you can expect that number to go up when the game is "officially" released. It's virtual LEGOs, people! Get on it!
