Yesterday Ubisoft announced Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Patriots. The latest edition of the franchise is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal with the support of Ubisoft Toronto and Red Storm for a 2013 release date on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
We talked about the sweet preview gameplay video, and now we have it for your viewing pleasure. Check out the first six minute action-packed Rainbow 6 Patriot's video below:
The game will revolve around a single-player storyline that "captures the reality of modern-day terrorism and allows players to experience it from multiple characters’ perspectives." Trust me when I say the collective G4 editorial staff found this footage insanely awesome.
“Terrorism has evolved, and so has Rainbow 6," said David Sears, creative director at Ubisoft. "In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, all the team play, tactics, and realism that fans of the series love have been coupled with an exciting new narrative direction.” He continues, “This adds an unprecedented level of humanity that will make Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots an extremely tense and immersive experience.”
Team Rainbow will face a threat called the "True Patriots", a highly-trained, well-organized group that believe the American government is corrupt. These True Patriots "will do whatever it takes to reclaim their country." As a member of Team Rainbow, you'll face tough ethical decisions in order to stop these terrorists.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots will also feature co-op and multiplayer experiences. These modes will test your communication and tactical execution skills between teammates.
I have to admit that I'm not too familiar with the Rainbow 6 franchise as a whole, but just seeing the test footage of the new game gets me really hyped up. Touch ethical decisions on the fly isn't really something that we're used to seeing in first-person shooters today and if they all work like they do in that video, this game is going to help elevate the genre to new heights.

That was awesomely disturbing, watching his back story made it feel horrible to do the lesser of two evils and chuck him off the bridge.If the actual game is as immersive, awesomely animated and has as great gameplay as this then it'll be THE shooter of next year.

finally Rainbow6 i been waiting like forever( 5 years too be act--) i no everyone a HUGE MW&BF junkies me i rather a TOM CLANCY tittle i been a fan of Rainbow since playstation but i got bac on it when it hit the first xbox.the video looks good can't wait i hope ubisoft got it togeather i should;nt hav to wait 5 more years for the next Rainbow6....(( thank u ubisoft in advance))

The opening seen in the game looked so real. it looks like the frosbite 3 engine. i really hope the real game looks this awesome.

it says target gameplay people. that means that it is what ubisoft is hoping the game to look like. so that makes it not actual gameplay. stop saying "it says gameplay in the title but it says it's not gameplay in the video." you guys sound stupid. just read the title.

I hope the new Rainbow Six will be more like Raven Shield. If so, it would be great to see the kiddies who think they are hardcore because they play Halo or Modern Warfare, whine how you can get killed by a couple shots and have no regenerating health in the game.

Wow, i love the tone of this. Love the morality choice it seems to place on you. Instead of just bang, bang shoot the bad guy, now it looks like you'll have to make tough choices.... Very well played Ubisoft

That concept video was awesome. If UBI is owning this, that means there's a good chance the game won't get watered down and we might finally have a tactical fps with a gripping and emotionally involved storyline. That would be nice.
