Title Of New Silicon Knights Game Leaked?According to internet reports, around 75 percent of the staff of developer Silicon Knights has been canned. Reportedly, SK has shrunk from 97 to 25 employees. Ouch. Silicon Knights was founded in 1992, and developed Too Human for the 360, and more recently, X-Men Destiny.

The company is noteable also for working on a project funded at least partially by the Ontario Media Development Corporation (which offers Ontario-based developers a one-time offering that will provide Ontario video game developers). The untitled game was called "a psychological thriller played in the third-person perspective" and is being prototyped for "all major next-gen systems." It was planned for a 2010 release.

Whether it will ever see the light of day remains to be seen. As yet, Silicon Knights has offered no comment.

According to wiki they got $4 mil in 2010 and $3 mil in 2011. If this is right they ought to be ashamed.

I loved Too Human, especially how bad ass the character was if you used all of their moves. However the long and drawn out death sequence ruined some of the fun.

X-Men Destiny was so painfully bad, I can't say I'm terribly surprised if Silicon Knights is indeed experiencing turbulence.

I take no joy in their pain -- especially in these troubled economic times -- I'm only saying that I suspected there would be repercussions when X-Men: Destiny proved to be so poorly made (rushed, unbalanced, rough, and buggy). It's one of the few games ever that I've intentionally stopped playing halfway through, never to return. The game plays, in my opinion, like a string of bad decisions made manifest.

I always wanted to see Silicon Knights rise up and do well, and I hope for the best for the people involved, but (as above) I could see these aftershocks coming in the wake of X-Men: Destiny's disappointing debut.

Although it was too short, I really enjoyed Too Human. I feel bad for the laid-off workers. Hopefully most of them have anough money to keep away the scum bag banks until they find a new job. Hang in there.

no way that the company that made X-Men: Destiny is laying off workers!

I feel disgusted to know that my province funded this company. My tax dollars just so they could lay off instead of making sequels that people would pay money for.

its about that time of the year. They always do this until they come up with new games to work on. No point in having people sit around during the holidays with nothing to do.
