Don't forget that Mario Kart 7's December 4 release is only a few weeks away! With big ticket console games hitting their 2011 high point in recent (and coming) days, it's easy to forget that some solid portable titles are also incoming. Nintendo's 3DS Mario Kart game will be a welcome return for fans of the racing series, especially with two newly confirmed racers joining the party: Wiggler and Honey Queen.
Confirmation comes from Nintendo Power (via Official Nintendo Magazine), which notes that both will be appearing as playable racers in a Mario Kart game for the first time. They're not alone, either; the identity of the other newcomers has yet to be confirmed, but it seems that there WILL be other first-time competitors revealed soon.
Honey Queen made her debut in the first Super Mario Galaxy game. Wiggler, on the other hand, has been around for ages; he's the friendly-looking caterpillar that often isn't so friendly to Mario. Wiggler first popped up in Super Mario World and he's been around ever since.
The two new racers join another pair of previously confirmed newcomers, Metal Mario and Lakitu. With more to come, it seems. Who might the as-yet-unrevealed racer(s) be?
