Why should you think there might be a Just Cause 3 right around the corner? Just 'cause Xbox World magazine put it in their rumor section? Just 'cause they say it will be out sometime in 2012? How about this? Just Cause 2 received high review scores and (more importantly) sold pretty well too, and game companies love making money.
Here's another reason to think the game is in development: Avalance, the studio behind the game, said they'd love to be attached to a sequel, way back in May.
In an interview with Develop, studio head Christofer Sundberg said: "I think there are a lot of connections with [Avalanche and] the IP and so we hope there's still a future in it, and that future to live as long as us... We are absolutely interested in working with the Just Cause IP again."
None of this is a confirmation or anything just a desire, a golden wish that lives in the dreams of butterflies.
Personally, I loved Just Cause 2's amazing stunts and larger-than-life vibe, and have high hopes for the sequel. If you're unfamiliar, check out the video below, of a contest winning Just Cause 2 stunt.

I hope on just cause 3 they have a split screen campaign because i like to play games with my dad and just cause 2 is good but its only 1 player

I'm a fan of JC2 but I must say that it is in dire need of coop-multi play (online & local), animal life, indoor buildings, better storyline plus character development and more tethering abilities. All and all this is a great game it just needs to be cleaned up. JC3 will be great especially if the developers listen to the advise of the consumer. That's you!! Thanks for another great game and concept.

I'd like to see online co-op or free mode that would be chaotic :)

if they are going to have multiplayer in this one i recommend going with the same style as test drive unlimited 2. could make some interesting branches of multiplayer games and events.

I can't count the number of times I say "just 'cause" when playing that game with friends. So many epic moments with tethering two 747's together and watching them dance in the air before inevitably smashing into a mountain side. Using statue heads as wrecking balls and causing chaos all over Panau. Even pulling off that $10,000 stunt of flying a plane through the twin hotel and sky diving onto a boat. The only differences i'd like to see would be better story depth, character voices, and being able to tether up to 10 things together. Or even 5 would make me happy. And the vehicle physics. Can't describe how frustrating it is to call in for a $20,000 car and have it land on a rock and explode.

WOOO! Under rated sandbox game is under rated! Hopefully 3 is the one that really gets it noticed.
I've actually enjoyed the cheeseball attitude in the story and characters of both 1&2 (that's completely meant to be throw away and is only in there "just 'cause" it needs to be lol).
But it's pretty clear that sort of stuff flies over most peoples heads or is just unwanted, so if they're smart they'll address that even more this time around and i'm pretty sure it will be hugely popular if they do.
Either way i'm positive it will be another out of this world sandbox.

fix the voice acting, and the multiple cutscene thing when buying something from JC2, and you've probably got a buyer here (I do still have my Just Cause 2, but those couple of things get to me after a bit)

Just Cause 2 was pretty fun, but the jungles always felt empty even though they looked so great. I hope there is some type of wildlife, or even something crazy like dinosaurs in the next one.

Yes please! Just Cause needs a coop multi-player though. Imagine me piloting a jet and you on top hooking things on to me randomly carpet bombing the base we're about to raid. Or You jumping off the cliff just to land perfectly on top of my 747... Oh yeah your in a car.

I know a lot people will probably disagree with this, but I hope it has multi-player... and the ability to shut off player locations on the radar.
