We heard reports last week that Sony Pictures was close to nailing down a deal to adapt Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise for film. While still in the early stages, the franchise was apparently the subject of a bidding war between Sony and Universal. Sony emerged victorious and now work begins on protecting its investment.
A total of 16 web domains were registered by the studio last Thursday -- the AC movie deal news broke on Friday -- as Fusible reported over the weekend. The domain names are all very generic and unrevealing, but they make two things clear: Assassin's Creed is a thing and that thing is going to be a movie (or film). This is cool news but Im got getting pumped until a director and screenwriter are named. Then it depends who they are and I may get excited. But as for Uncharted, Im pumped. Best original franchise of this gen of gaming. And The guy that directed Limitless (my favorite film of the year) is doing it.

The Assassin's legacy spans centuries. The movie doesn't have to include either Altair or Ezio, so as long as they just make a good character, with a rich back story and wonderful visuals and a GOOD script, the movie should do fine.
Just pray it doesn't turn into a cluster @^!# like every other movie game. The Uncharted movie will most likely result in someone having to assassinate the director and screenwriters.
