A new playable race will be added to the next WoW expansion Mists Of Pandaria: The Pandaren. This will be the first playable race since Cataclysm added Worgens and Goblins. Unlike previous expansions, this one adds only one playable race, the neutral Pandaren, meaning both Horde and Alliance can play as the adorable/deadly bears. This would be the first time a playable race would be accessible to both sides.
A new class has been added for the Pandaren: The Monk. You'll be able to unlock the secrets of martial arts as a damage dealer, healer, or tank.

The Panderan need to be able to understand Orcish too as now they only know Panderan and Common and are leaning towards favoring only the alliance if they can't understand anything that a Horde player is telling them.

Horde/Alliance + Panda = Wasn't a Panda pet good enough? Looks like WoW is getting an extra dose of Japanese... 'Cause I'm pretty sure there are other Japanese MMO's that have a playable Panda race.. Like Perfect Worlds right?

so many people ( mostly on youtube) are saying that this is gay. I for one cant wait for it to come out.

It sounds like Pandaria will be on the PTR by the end of November.

looks like its time to continue the tradition of buying the new expansion and quiting a couple months later. having a race that both factions can play tho does sound like maybe ill stick around a little longer...assuming WoW can pull be back in. just seems to repeative....and thats why i have the feeling SWTOR will become WoW cuz of all the grinding and what not youll have to do at some point.

For those of you claiming that WOW is ripping of Kung Fu panda. Since most of World of Warcraft's lore came from prior Warcraft games, let's reference Warcraft 3: the Frozen Throne and take a look at the Pandaren Brewmaster. Frozen Throne came out in 2003 Kung Fu Panda 2008. Who's ripping off who???

Honestly a good number of people have been wanting Pandaren for a while, Though I think giving them to one faction or the other would have been better than both.

well i can't say im shocked. These guys were in Warcraft III and people have been wanting them for a long time. Glad to see it happen at last.

The Pandaren have been in the lorn for a long time. SWTOR isn't the wow killer since one is sci-fi and the other fantasy. Most of you are dumb. Wow for is old news but im willing to try it to see. I feed trolls once a year enjoy noobz

Hmm... playable by both factions? I dunno, the whole beauty about Horde/Alliance is that you want to mercilessly slaughter most, if not all of the races on the opposing faction, panda fighting panda, just doesn't seem like it would give the same immersion factor, but maybe I'm just being picky. Perhaps the WC3 TFT bonus campaign where the pandaren teamed up with Rexxar is playing a bit of a trick on my mind too.
Hmph... well, guess it doesn't really matter too much anyway since I quit over half a year ago (again).

This is silly....
...and wrong, not because of pandas, however. This is not a "neutral race." If it were really neutral, it would not be playable on either alliance or horde but rather just by itself or a new neutral group.
This is just a joke.

Are you kidding me? THANK GOD Star Wars comes out Dec 20th and everyone will bail from WOW for Star Wars.. I thought they jumped the shark with the redone version of azeroth, NO they made panda's...
