Diablo 3 Free To World Of Warcraft Subscribers; Exclusive Mount Tyrael's Charger

At Blizzcon moments ago, Blizzard announced a new deal for free access to Diablo 3. If you sign up for 12-months of World of Warcraft via the WoW season pass you will get Diablo 3 for free. You can still be billed monthly, otherwise you'd be forking over almost $200 at once. Not only will you get instant, free access to Diablo 3, but you'll also be guaranteed access to the next World of Warcraft expansion's beta.

To sweeten the deal Blizzard will also be giving gamers who sign up for this deal an exclusive mount, Tyrael's Charger.

You can sign up today.

now when they say the word 'access' does that mean diablo 3 is going to be pay to play? or if you just buy a year you get diablo 3 for free... 1 word can change so much

I'd admit that charger looks pretty badass there. And Diablo 3 for free for WoW's season pass isn't really that bad (in retrospect anyway), but I no longer play WoW anymore, it's been years since I played WoW so I won't be doing this anytime soon. Kung fu Pandas or not, I'll pass (though Brewmaster was so awesome to use in WC3).

Why is it that day in and day out gamers act as though they only get to play one game per genre. Its like the game of the year awards in reverse. You can still play Diablo 3 and pick up and play Torchlight 2. MW3 and Battlefield 3 as well. WoW and SW:TOR. You can even play Sonic and Mario... woooo. Stop acting like one game has to invalidate another.

I was thinking the same thing. Classic WoW was the only time it was good: When you actually had to earn gear by coordinated raids and fight your way to the top of PvP; when there was open world PvP--the good 'ole days. Back before Vivendi forced away all the genuine talent from Blizzard North

Anyhow, this is a ripoff unless you're still addicted to WoW and intend on playing for years to come--plain and simple. Fortunately, I gave that up for actual new and innovative experiences on my PS3. :D

Don't get me wrong, I still fully intend on seeing Diablo 3 through. I've been waiting nearly a decade for the end of Diablo's saga so I will purchase D3 on its own.

I just won't buy into Blizzard's ludicrous deals; it's like making a deal with the devil, yet not knowing what exactly you'll get in return. (Ala WoW's model of patching when they feel like it, charging for "new" stuff that's really rehashed content and releasing an expansion every year while you pay through the bum).

Hm.. I kind of feel insulted. Does Blizzard really think we can't see through this ploy to attract more people to their terrible, terrible game?

(Although I will say, WoW was not always a bad game. Thanks for making it so, Blizz.)

Now that's how you get people addicted to Blizzard games again.

Torchlight 2 coming out and I'll be playing that instead of D3. For one it's still only $20 like the first game and two it doesn't seem like they are rehashing previous game's content. D3 has a class that looks like the necromancer, plays like a necromancer, but they didn't call it a necromancer so it's a "new" class.

    Bleh...

Thanks for the incentives Blizzard, but too little too late. I'm enjoying Rift and come Dec 20th I'll be hopping over to a Galaxy far, far away....

It doesnt answer if D3 will have DRM or the SC2 client curse, third world nations and myself are worried beyond reasonable hope.

Honestly this looks to me like a desperate attempt to try to win over potential subscribers that will jump ship when SWTOR comes out.

I hope others can see this as well!

D3 >>>>>>>&g t;> WoW by miles and miles. Most WoW players have probably never even played the real warcraft games. This whole pay for play and mmo's is getting out of hand, I cant believe people are actually paying $20 a month

To late on this deal. With Star Wars coming out on Dec 20th, there is NO WAY in hell I would sign a 1 year deal with blizzard anymore. Not worth it and I have a feeling this is ONLY happening because they are trying not to lose their shirts in WOW due to Star Wars coming out..

    Ya no thanks
