Mark Hamill said a while back that his performance in Batman: Arkham City would be his last as the Joker. Now, as a Batman fan, I hoped that he wasn't serious - he's the Joker that I grew up with, and I think he's the best one. Well, as much as it pains me to admit, it looks like he was indeed serious. Hamill took to his Twitter to say his goodbye to the Clown Prince of Crime.
"Hello/Goodbye Joker! I've enjoyed every minute behind the wheel of the Crown Prince's crazy car- I'm going to miss him more than I can say!!"
As for who can fill his clown shoes, I'm completely at a loss. Maybe you guys have some ideas? Share them with us in the comments section below.
And to sum up my feelings, I'll just leave you with this (meta, huh?):

Doesn't he need the work?

NOBODY hamill was the best up to and including heath ledger
this will truly be a missed cog in the dark knight equation
CosmicBrownies
Nobody! Mark is the voice of the Joker. If Joker does and probably will appear in another game or animated show they will probably find someone who sounds like Mark!
PSYCKOTIK
I know that as a fan NO matter who they bring it'll never be the same

Mark Hamill was the only Joker. John Di Maggio was pretty good in Under the Red Hood, yet he was a little too deep. Still a close second though.

as soon as I saw the ending of arkham city I knew that was what was going to happen. He had said in the past that arkham asylum was going to be his last time doing the joker, but after he diddnt die, I assumed they wouldnt replace him. I loved arkham citiy's farewell to mark hammill as the joker in the end. The fact that everyone was sad at the end instead of celebrating (SPOILERS AHEAD DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED ARKHAM CITY) the Joker's death (SEE NOW YOU HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF), was a perfect goodbye to mark hammill as the character.

I will throw out there the guy who did the joker in "The Batman". at first i felt it was too deep be he got the laugh down perfectly. He's not mark hamill but he did a decent job with the character.

But Hamill's Joker is best Joker!

I wish he'd gotten to portray the role on film.

Also, loved the Star Wars reference lol.

At least he went out on a high note. Congradulations Mark Hamill, on giving an amazing performance as the Clown Prince of Crime. Best of luck to the next heir to the Joker voice...hopefully not in a thousand years.

What About The Guy Who Voiced Him On The "Under The Red Hood" Movie?
TofuZombie92
Watching that video gives me chills. I am a die hard star wars fan...but vaader does not belong here
DingoEnderZOE2
Grr I can't edit, I meant judging by the way Arkham City ended, I must say if there were ANY way to retire on a high note this was the one.
DingoEnderZOE2
Going by the way Arkham City I must say if there were ANY way to retire on a high note Arkham City was the one.

John Di Maggio had a good laugh but he needs to work on the tone a bit. Otherwise, he could be the Joker.

Adam Harrington is a close second
