StarCraft Universe, the fan-made StarCraft MMO mod in StarCraft 2, has been made playable for a limited time until October 30. I need to finish writing this really fast so I can jump in there, as this is one of the coolest-looking mods I've ever seen.
You may remember when the StarCraft MMO was first announced, when Blizzard asked the creators to change the name, and when the team released the StarCraft Universe raid trailer. But we haven't heard much of anything from the team in quite a few months, until now.
Today, the developers have made the StarCraft Universe player versus player (PVP) portion of the game available on Battle.net until the 30th to get you hyped up to play more of the mod at Blizzcon later this week.
When you hop in to the game you'll start out at level 30 in order to try out the "Encephalon Grid". Every class will be available, and you'll be equipped with a set of mid-level gear and abilities for your class. If you want to unlock even more abilities for your chosen class you'll have to win more matches. With great skill comes greater abilities, as they say.
I'm so excited to check this out. If you are too then I look forward to meeting you on the Grid.
