Gran Turismo 5 was supposed to see its first downloadable content release today, but those plans have been set back here in the United States. Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed to MCV UK that the pack, which follows last week's Spec 2.0 update, will now not hit the PlayStation Network until October 25.
No reason was given for the delay, and the release is still a go in Japan and Europe. Sony has promised a "special bonus" for the delayed DLC pack, though the particulars weren't mentioned. The contents of the DLC were detailed last week by Polyphyny Digital bossman Kazunori Yamauchi.

I hope the reason is at least interesting...

I don't understand why Gran Turismo takes so long with their games. Don't they known gamers are impatient. Not to mention why wait almost a year for DLC, by now most game either traded the game or don't care about it any more. I still have my copy of the game, but some one needs to give Gran Turismo a good kick in the behind to wake them up.

With Battlefield 3 and inFamous 2: Festival of Blood hitting that day I'll be skipping this.

They should have probably delayed the spec 2.0 update aswell lol, adding the interior views the game was missing.. while great in theory is not acceptable still.
Labeling them as "generic interiors" (as quoted by polyphony) is the perfect way to describe them, they're all black and 100% generic looking, and resemble more to something I would have made out of a carboard box as a kid than they do car interiors.
