Team Fortress 2 Store's First Year Celebrated With New Hats

Valve wants to thank us all for spending $2 million on virtual hats over the past year. The company launched its Mann Co. Store for Team Fortress 2 in October 2010, offering vanity items (like the aforementioned hats) to players in exchange for small amounts of money. To celebrate the store's one year anniversary, Valve has kicked off the Manniversary Update and Sale, the latter part of which is store-wide and runs until October 17.

On the update side, the newly added Steam Workshop offers item creators an easier way to submit, test, share and track what they've made, with the community able to browse through the user-generated merchandise, rate it and offer feedback. And since no Mann Store Co. update would be complete without more Stuff for you to buy, fans can look forward to seeing 30 new hats and cosmetic items.

Also new is an item decal system, the ability to try out items before you purchase them and preset loadouts. There's also a new taunt, which is good news for everyone.
