Feedback's Question Of The Week

Each week we implement your questions into Feedback. It's your chance to have your voice heard. If you have a burning question about anything gaming related, don't waste this opportunity.

Next week we'll probably talk about Mass Effect 3's multiplayer and news from New York Comic-Con. We're also going to be discussing Batman: Arkham City. Spoiler alert: Bruce Wayne is Batman. Oh yes I did!

tl;dr Ask us video game questions! We want to answer them.

I think the addition of co-op in Mass Effect 3 is a great idea. You have a team based shooter, why not let you and your buddies play together? It seems a lot of single player games are including co-op into them. Do you see co-op in popular single player franchises becoming the new thing?

There are many games where there's a good, long single-player campaign, but little to no multiplayer, or vice-versa. Why do you suppose that is, and do you think that there will be more games in the near future that are satisfying and both fields?

You know what they say, a game that releases with no demo must be hiding something.

Micro-brews and craft beers are starting to become very popular these days. What is your micro-brew or craft beer or choice while reviewing...I mean playing games?

In your opinion, what are the most seminal moments in video gaming history ?.

What has had the biggest impact on the evolution of modern interactive entertainment ?. Is it a game, a piece of harware or even the birth of industry giants like Activision and EA ?. Discuss.

Console Keyboard/mouse... There are game genres which only perform well on PC with a keyboard/mouse, and there are game genres on consoles that would benefit from use of keyboard/mouse. We have third party adapters to allow use of a keyboard and mouse on a PS3 or 360. Though mirroring performance is no where near par since it is through manipulation instead of actually being programed into the software.

I am assuming the reason we don't see a first party keyboard and mouse combo for xbox or PS3 is due to the difficulty of programing a game with both controller & keyboard control options. But why not create specific games that only work with a keyboard and mouse and sell as a peripheral package with a first party keyboard & mouse combo. We already see it with games in the music and motion genres.

As TV's become more powerful and capable of more and more of what a PC/laptop can do. Seems like it's only a matter of time before the desktop and laptop become obsolete and the Tablet controlled tv or fully capable TV take over.

Most of us have already replaced our monitors with TV's, our computer desks with coffee tables and our desktops with laptops or tablets connected to the TV. It seems like a smart move to me, but I don't know if it's just not a large demand projection or if it's waiting for the next gen consoles.

So this question is really open for anyone to answer, however, I would really like to hear Adam's response because I see him as a very thinking kind of man, and I respect him greatly for that. In the modern day and age, it seems as if video games, as well as the whole mass media and entertainment market, have become a prominent force in the eye of the public. Whether this is a result of a general change in the public's interests, or if it points to a deeper, more profound change in the heart of the public I do not claim to have the answer, and I do not count myself as experienced enough to really pass that kind of judgment on anyone. With that in mind, I want to know what you think about this subject. How does the realm of video games, and maybe even the whole of modern day entertainment, fit into one's life philosophy? I firmly believe that everyone strictly adheres to their own philosophy, whether they realize it or not, and in general, what do you think this emergent popularity of video games says about the philosophy of the public as a whole? Obviously, this is more of an opinionated question looking for others opinions, but if you could, please elucidate for me the premises upon which your conclusions are founded. And to Adam, I would really like to hear your opinion on this matter, whether that is through Feedback or through another means I do not care. I would also be glad to reciprocate the favor if you so desire. Anyways, thank you for your continued dedication to the world, and art, of electronic entertainment. I have been a loyal fan of this Feedback program, as well as X-Play back in the older days. - Kenny ---- Indietasticore@gmail.com

Since Batman Arkham Asylum came out and soon Arkham City, Rocksteady has shown that they have a very good handle on creating a great comic book world for video games. Not only have they used the vast wealth of stories of Batman to create these extraordinary games but shown they took the care needed to make us as players believe that we are in those comic book worlds.

My question then is, do you think Rocksteady can make a great game out of other DC superheroes, maybe even redeem the horrifying and god awful mess that is Superman 64? In other words, is there a possibility that we might get a good Superman game now?

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that Batman Arkham City is going to be a pretty good game. So good in fact that it has made me think about he quality of other superhero games that came out this year (mainly Thor, Green Lantern, X-men Destiny and Spiderman). These games are either put out as quick cash ins on respective movies or are just published by activision.

Arkham City is going to be good because it take advantage of the rich comic book history and because of the time and thought put into it like any other Triple A game that comes along. My question is when are developers and publishers going to realize that these comic book games can't be put out on a 1 year development cycle or when the next movie going to come out? Mainly why can't other comic book games get it right?

Multi platform titles present themselves as a successful business model offering the same game with a slight to major difference in gaming experience based on the console, i.e. wii, xbox, psp, mobile, etc.

Where do you find the future of exclusive platform titles in competition with exclusive DLC for the multi platform titles?

Also, do you find the exclusive title model to be going away in today s market with examples like metal gear solid and GTA moving outside the box?

If Arkham City does as well as Asylum, do you expect we'll see more high profile, well made super hero games in the future? And if so, what hero would you like to get his or her own shot at a respectable game adaptation?

Why do you think people complain so much about disc swapping and look at it as though it were a bad thing?

Regardless of whether you install the disc to your console's hard drive or not, you still need to use the disc to access the data and play the game. Is this people simply bitching for the sake of bitching.

To me it seems that if you are too lazy to get up off of the couch, walk a few feet at most, press a button, insert a disc, press the button again, then walk the few feet back to the couch; you have some serious problems.

I'm wondering if Batman Arkam City is going to be a better game but basically more of the same. There seems to a lot of little additions(costumes, villians, challenge rooms and payable characters) but we haven't seen much for new gameplay mechanics. I know the old "if it ain't broke" saying but I can't help but get this feeling it won't be much different.

There has been a lot of hate/love for the new Mass Effect 3 multi player showing up on the videos and some of the news articles, though I really can't speak for the forums. I just wanted to know whether you guys like or dislike this new development or if it's really just too early to tell.

How important is character creation and customization in games for you? Have you ever bought a game just because of the high level of customization involved?
