320 GB Xbox 360 Hard Drive On The Way

Xbox 360 Arcade And Xbox 360 Pro Getting Storage Upgrades?

If your Xbox 360's Hard Drive is starting to get too full, have no fear gentle readers, Microsoft has your backs. Between games, movies, TV shows, downloadable content and music, it's pretty easy to see how even the 250 GB Hard Drive can be filled. Well Microsoft took note and announced a new, even bigger hard drive - a massive 320 GB Media Hard Drive. The new hard drive will be compatible with all Xbox 360 S models, and includes a code to download a full game LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

I have to wonder if this new hard drive has anything to do with the recent announcement about Microsoft's partnership with a bunch of media providers for Xbox Live. Could we be able to use this new hard drive as a way to DVR the new TV shows we'll be able to stream to our Xbox 360? It certainly makes sense to me. With all these new sources of media available, having the largest Xbox 360 hard drive yet just sounds like a no brainer to me.

The new 320 GB Media Hard Drive will hit stores in late October and will set you back $129.99.

Well I'm glad I got my PS3 cause I can upgrade it with any laptop hard drive up to the new terabyte drives for under the 150 mark, plus with blu-ray & free online multiplayer I am set!

Maybe one day you poor bastards can have 50gig blu ray discs
that your machine can read straight off of.
Oh, I'm not biased either kids, i own all three current consoles.
Wait, i lied, i am biased towards the PC.

ME AND HEWLETT PACKARD GETTIN IT DONE SON,
IT's EVEN GOT THIS COOL LIGHT ON THE POWER BUTTON!

320gig is nothing if your console requires mandatory installs for a huge percentage of it's games.

I've got around 200gig left on my MW2 SKU and just because I'm too lasy to delete free demos I'll never play again and too sentimental to delete old videos.

    This is getting ridiculous.

"Here's a bit more, just pay us $130 and don't worry, there will be more later."

Yes here comes the price gouging for something that totally isn't worth 130 bucks.....Thank you MS can you please raise the price of live to 80 bucks a year like I know your itching to.......Nothing like nickel and diming, to warm the heart. Im sure the gold price is going up, i'm willing to bet its either dec 1st or jan 1st. Fanboy it all you want, I own both systems and this is why im beginning to dislike MS

dude if your spending enough money on "media" that you can fill up a a 120 G hard drive in the first place, clearly the social scene and any sort of exposure to the sun has waved by by long ago j/k

on a serious note, if i can't hold it in my hands im not investing, so a larger place to store said media means nothing to me.

Why not just buy the version of Xbox 360 that is 250GB for $300 that gives you a controller as well?

Unless you goofed and choose the wrong headline image?

Honestly Microsoft will Fix the X-Box 360 for free, honestly if Microsoft works out the bugs in the console,I'll buy one,why not make a Terra Byte gaming P.C. that's has an universal P.C.U. and a C.P.U.chip's that can read all game language format's. Honestly Play Station 3 last longer because Sony went to I.B.M. computers and bought the advanced cell processor chips, that's why the Play Station last longer. One problem with that, you have to pay for a yellowed ring of death Play Station 3 to be repaired. There are up and downs with every console.

Not sure why anyone in his or her right mind would spend $135 on this one HDD when you can save for a new console that will most likely be announced next spring/summer.

What a rip off, With PS3 you can use whatever HDD you want. Let's see the xbots argue that.

This is one area where $ony's console shines over M$'s. Proprietary hardware sucks, but is probably a more sound business decision (from a stockholder perspective anyway).

Yeah my 120 GB just got filled up with a few games installed on it, its disc drive is seriously limping atm, and Rage being one of those games installed. Then there's the whole problem of getting a newer hard drive but you need the new system (yet you can't afford the new s model). grrrr

Sounds like a waste to me. I don't understand why it cost so much money. You can seriously buy 1TB HDD for a PC for 79.99$ !30$ for only 320GB? Your joking right? and honestly the xbox should be able to use SSDs. HDDs are so old and outdated. Microsoft really isn't innovative anymore so sad...

130.00 for a 320gb hard drive and a free game is a great deal. I already have one since I bought the Gears Xbox, and it is very very useful. I have a ton of content that I downloaded off of Xbox Live over the years, and now I can go through it and redownload it back on to my xbox.

hmmmm $130 for 320 gb and a free game? $130 may seem a lot for a hard drvie but this is definently a deal compared to when they sold the 120 gb drive for $150. I'm actually considering getting this.

I think that Microsoft should pay ME for a new hard drive. I'd buy a lot more content on Xbox Live if I had more than 20GB. I'm not willing to pay just for the ability to buy more, especially when the hard drives are so overpriced. You can get a 2TB external hard drive for like $90.
