Everytime I post any incremental improvement to blocky indie game Minecraft, I think, "This is the last one." But then something comes along that's so awesome I just have to show it to you. Today's piece of Minecraft amazing: Dragons! Notch is adding flying lizard creatures to his world, and he's posted a some pics. That's one of the new MOBS above.
Obviously, the textures aren't in place yet, but even without color, that thing is BAD-ASS, in a slightly derpy Minecraft-way, of course. Here's a whole gallery of Minecraft Dragon screenshots for you to enjoy and share with your friends.

This game reminds me of legos. Everything is so blocky. I really can't tell that it's a dragon though. Looks like some sort of Oragami dragon though.

Lets see the Elder Scrolls guys sue him for this... Because just like the name "Scrolls", I'm sure they have full ownership of all dragons in any game.

Why would you say that since the game isnt finished? Kinda stupid to be surprised there adding things to a game thats in developement lol.

For all the idiots who think Notch added dragons to screw with Bethesda, no. No he didn't.
Dragons have been on Notch's to-do list since AT LEAST August 20th of LAST YEAR.

Stop saying that notch is doing this because he's getting sued by bethesda. It's just not true. His company is getting sued by bethesda's legal team because they think his game Scrolls will be confused with The Elder Scrolls. Notch and Todd Howard from Bethesda actually talked about Making Skyrim in Minecraft in a video. So there isn't any problems between the two developers it's just stupid legal issues that are causing a problem.

there's just something i don't like about this. it could be because it doesn't really fit the theme or just the fact that dragons are becoming a little gimmicky for my tastes. only 1 way to find out if its fun i guess.
my biggest worry is the followup to this patch. just thinking of poor notch being bombarded by kids and there " let us ride dragons notch!" and not to forget " can we have dragons as our pet notch!? ".

The dragon mob was first hinted after Notch added Spider Jockeys to the game back in the days of Alpha 1.0.17, so to think this is him getting back at Bethesda is a tad ludicrous.

oh shiznet no more building skybases to avoid mobs luckily underwater bases are still ok wish you could tame the dragons then they can set the skellies on fire

Is this the smarting thing to be doing, given that they are currently being sued by Skyrim (dragons) developer over the Scrolls title. Man, these guys just can't get along.
