It doesn't take much deductive reasoning to see why Ultimate Fighting Championship might be popular with Xbox 360 gamers. It's mostly that "fighting" bit. How exciting then that Microsoft has announced a December 1 release date for UFC content on Xbox Live.
The new dashboard destination -- which will be arriving a couple weeks after the looming mega-update, if rumors are to be believed -- allows fans to order and watch live Pay-Per-View events in streaming 720p HD (SD pricing also available). All purchases will be made with actual cash as opposed to XBL's points-based currency.
In addition to the main events, it looks like some social gaming will be built into the mix as well, by way of "Interactive Fight Cards." Fans will be able to preview upcoming matches and make predictions for points, complete with leaderboard tracking. You'll also be able to interact with the UFC portal on XBL using your Kinect.
The service will only be available in the U.S. and Canada at launch.
