Tiger Woods will be sharing the cover of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 with a yet-to-be-determined pro-golfer. Woods, who has recently slipped to a 51 ranking among the worlds best golfers, is just no longer the powerhouse athlete he once was. But, hey, let's not focus on The Tiger's floozy-fueled fall from grace. Let's focus on the less well-known golfers who might join him on the cover of the next game.
EA Sports is having a fan-led contest to determine who will share the spotlight with woods, and has thrown out a list of pro-golfers for fans to choose from. In the US, those golfers are:
- Ben Crane
- Rickie Fowler
- Jim Furyk
- Dustin Johnson
- Zach Johnson
- Hunter Mahan
- Rocco Mediate
- Bubba Watson
My initial thought, as a guy who doesn't follow golf at all, is that you have to vote for a golfer named "Bubba." But upon deeper reflection (and believe me, I have reflected on this matter deeply), I think you should vote for Jim Furyk, because his name is almost "Jim Fury" which is about as awesome as names get.
Missing from the list of potential candidates is golfer John Daly, who has his own golf game out there, and whose off-the-links activities rival Tiger's own when it comes to cocktail waitresses and excess. Personally, I think Woods vs. Daly Floozy Golf 13 is the way to go. ( Are you listening, EA Sports??)
European gamer-golfers will get to choose from among these household names:
- Paul Casey
- Luke Donald
- Ross Fisher
- Graeme McDowell
- Rory McIlroy
- Edoardo Molinari
- Ian Poulter
- Justin Rose
Candidates were selected and seeded based on a combination of the Official World Golf Rankings, the FedExCup Rankings/Race to Dubai Rankings and “Fandom” rankings. Fandom rank is a combination of Twitter followers, Facebook fans and traffic to each golfer’s official website.
As you've probably guessed, if you want to vote, you have to go to the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 facebook page.

I'd have to go with Rory, he's just a plain old prodigy. Definitely has a lot of potential and success lying ahead.

I follow golf a lot (I also play it) either Rickie Fowler or Rory McIlroy top 2. Bill hass isn't on the list he won the Fed Ex Cup. no Phil Miclleson? (too bad Tiger and Phil lets just say are not friendly with each other) Other European players or european born K.J. Choi.

Luke Donald should be on both versions.

People still buy Golf games?

Why isn't Elin Nordegren on this list? She's proven she can swing a golf club as well as the rest of them. ;)
