46-year-old Mark Bradford has admitted to tracking down and choking a 13-year-old boy after the boy taunted him through the game chat in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
According to an article from wownews.co.uk, Bradford admitted that he "just lost it" after the boy killed him in-game. He proceeded to find the boy's address, went there, and started to choke him. He was only stopped when the boy's mother pulled him off her son. Bradford called the attack a "moment of madness." He admitted to one count of assault by beating.
I know emotions can run high in online games, but come on - this is beyond unacceptable. Have you guys ever seen or heard of anything like this? Let us know in the comments.

Wow, everyone is hating on XBOX live. This happened over the PS3.
V??
To the eleven-teen-year-olds reading this You re younger, on a better/more expensive system and you probably log way more session time (on account of not holding a job, not discovering vagina and being too young to buy alcohol I d presume), so what are you really bragging about anyway? You can shoot old people with slow reflexes that lead sad, depressing lives silent applause . Think about it, you re playing cuz its all there is to do right now; he s playing cuz that s all he s GOT!
That s what you pad you KDR with but if you still insist on gloating over shooting fish in a barrel there s a crouch button in these games for a reason. It's not for cover and concealment, it s called tea bagging, and it s all you ll ever need. , get your squats in, and just go about your killing spree. The dead will notice.
Anyway, hopefully the very real possibility of some sad, depraved shell of a man bursting into your home with the intent to end you offers some incentive for all of you to curb the douchebaggery. Good luck on not getting choked trolls.

This is what I want to know out of this. How in the frak did this guy know how to find this kid? What steps did he take? So he just found this kid from his gamertag? How could he get this info from that and is it easily gotten? Is the streets we live on vulnerable to our gamertags? WTF, someone please follow this up and report

I've had my fits of rage on Madden but I never wanted to track down anybody and give them the business. That's crazy. Where does one get the energy to do anything like that. That's just insane. What a sore loser.
Strychnine
What this man did was reprehensible! It also begs the question, why is a child playing an "M" rated game?
Diremike
The environment CoD produces for players doesn't help the situation. There aren't many games that can attract stupidity and childish behavior like CoD does.
GuardianH44
Get mad at a game? Understandable.
Drop an F-bomb or shout in rage? Somewhat understandable.
Get mad, track down a kid, choke him? Over dying in a game? Over taunting? Rediculous.
I understand that a game can get frustrating (personally get annoyied when I lose a Chainsaw Duel on GoW3 multiplayer), but this is just extreme.
If Xbox/PS3 players did this to one-another, then both would lose at least 1/2 of their players...
Alcholawlic
The kid deserved it.
DIETY
and this is the reason politics, talk show hosts, pretty much the media target us gamers because of this sort of antic. This 46 year old must still live with his mom and asks her to get hot pockets on the daily... poor mother
GuardianKaos
Its odd how they don t mention the fact that the mother is letting her 13 year old kid KID CHILD play a MATURE rated game intended for ADULTS 17 and up
And it makes me wonder, how did he know this kid, how did he know where he lived, his real name and address? The fact this random individual that he is playing with lives just around the corner . Out of the thousands of people that play this game at any given time, he happens to be killed by a person that is in his city, neigh, practically on his block.

Yeah I hear it every second of every day!!! I am glad someone did something cause maybe now some action will be taken on Xbox live for actually fixing the blocking system to avoid certain players you do not wish to game with for the rest of your time as a gold member!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I give a standing ovation for the 46 yr old for taking this action and hope xbox live takes the necessary steps to improve their network!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...first off it's a kid. If any grown man is so insecure with himself that a child taunting him in a video game chat is enough to make him want to choke him, he seriously need to put down the controller and step away from the console. Because he's not even mentally or emotionally stable enough to even handle competitive trash talking.
Second, what is with COD gamers?? I mean seriously, they are some of the worst gamers I've ever seen. They take that game and life in genral way too seriously. If it's not little kids belting out racial and homophobic slurs, it's adults with way too much time on their hands, doing nothing more then wasting their lives away pretending to be soilders.
Stellerman7
There's just no way to regulate underage kids playing violent video games. Sure you can stop them from playing at your house; but what if they go to a friend's instead or some other place where the parents have no idea what they are doing? Granted ignorance and poor parenting skills play a role in some cases but overall there is no way to stop it from happening. As much as I hate to admit it; sometimes I wish the supreme court had passed that law; maybe then there would be less to worry about.
AntiFox08
It's not okay what he did, and the kid is 13. He's a teenager. He should know not to go around shooting people or doing other stupid actions. These idiots get sore and rage that he should've never played an M rated game. Get over ourselves. Kids play M rated games all the time, some are pretty good, and I don't think they're gonna walk around snapping necks. Get sore if you want, but I know I'm right. I loved MGS and Tenchu.
LtCmdrChar
Terrible incident and all, but I can't help but be amused by all the comments that are about how this will be a lesson for 360 gamer kids or something similar. Does no one realize that the gamers in this story were playing on a PS3? Why is there such a natural assumption that such smack talk can only happen on the Xbox while the PS3 is 'free of such things' when it's clearly not the case..
ItalianPlumber
Story takes a turn for the worse.
Turns out it was his son that he was choking and that they were in the same house.

I guess parents really are responsible for all the bad stuff they blame on games.
dl1151
Moral of the story, parents should stop being terrible parents and stop letting their children play games. Especially since no one enjoys hearing prepubescent children drop f-bombs and talk crap online. I've felt like strangling children at times as well as the parents letting their children play mature games, but I would never take it that far. If stuff like this happens, then why even put msrb ratings on games?
chada
LMao i hope it was that brat that killed me the other day.. haha just kiddin
gemini6778
I have mixed feelings about this. I am angered that someone is able to get someones information of of a profile/gamertag inside a game . . . shouldnt happen EVER . . . If the dude did that to my kid the guy wouldnt have to worry about anything ever again. . . but being the good parent I am . . . it wouldnt be my kid M rated games can only be sold to 17+ right so yeah. . . I think anytime you retaliate to an in-game taunt outside of the game no matter the tactic is wrong. . . yes I am talking to those who use the information to "hack" peoples' accounts . . . if you cant handle getting your butt kicked . . . get outta the ring . . . Parents listen to these guys here . . . watch what your kids do no matter where it is . . . BE A PART OF THEIR LIFE OR LIFE WILL HAPPEN IN THE WORST POSSIBLE WAY . . . (Remember Columbine)
