46-year-old Mark Bradford has admitted to tracking down and choking a 13-year-old boy after the boy taunted him through the game chat in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
According to an article from wownews.co.uk, Bradford admitted that he "just lost it" after the boy killed him in-game. He proceeded to find the boy's address, went there, and started to choke him. He was only stopped when the boy's mother pulled him off her son. Bradford called the attack a "moment of madness." He admitted to one count of assault by beating.
I know emotions can run high in online games, but come on - this is beyond unacceptable. Have you guys ever seen or heard of anything like this? Let us know in the comments.

This act is in no way ex usable. The @#$!, man?! You're a grown ass man, crying over a frackin' video game. Seriously. It's bad enough that you went to choke the kid, but the fact that you got that upset at losing means you have no place, none whatsoever, to play the game at all. Stay in your basement, loser, where your cries of rage can't be heard.
That said, I hope the kid learned a lesson. One of the prime reason why I stay off Xbox Live is because of those vulgar, racist brats. I can't say that I have never wanted to choke a brat, not that it makes his actions any less excusable.
And I don't care if I get downvoted for this, but 13 year olds have no place on Live anyway, at least not for games of this calibur. They are M rated for a reason. 17, 16, and even 15 year olds are good, but 13 is just 3 years away from 10. Sure, not all M Rated games deserve their rating (Oblivion comes to mind), but I wish to high heaven that parents would do the research becore they buy a game for ther tykes. I want video games to be respected and taken seriously as a media, since it isn't just for children. That means taking the ratings seriously as well.

Not that I think that he was right for doing it, but have you ever heard some of these kids talking (smack) on XBL? They are rude, vulgar and often racist (even thought they don't know who they are talking to). Some of them do need their (butts) spanked before they say the wrong thing to the wrong person in public and get themselves (or whoever is with them at the moment) killed.

Wrong way of teaching a proper lesson. Granted that the entire hunting-down-the-rascal went overboard, but it does put to a point that those that those that taunt or behaves inappropriately can hide behind the anonymity of the internet and get away with things.
ThaSaltShaker
The deed was terrible, but at a certain point in all our lives you have to learn that for every action there is a reaction. That kid just got schooled.

Now this kid is gonna have the Red Rings Of Death.....AROUND HIS NECK. ;)

Hey as someone said abbout the kid paying M rated games, they are just a guidence for parents to know, if they think their kid is at the level of the game then he plays it, but some parents are just too lazy to find the mental capability of thei children and preffer to just go with the rating and that iis why some users see the parents unfit for beiing parents of their kid
James3167
Wow, that dude was wayyy off line, if he goes to jail and some gangs find out that he choked a kid, then he is as good as dead, since there are many in-prison gangs who kill anybody who harms children, I don't support them, but just saying that he would die, besides the "M" rating is just for show, most parents don't know what their kids do at school, or at the internet for the matter, which some stuff would classify as NC-17, this is just fyi, if you did something you should not have done while a kid, your children would do something worse, bacause of all of the technology that is available.

if i were that guy i'd ask his mom or an older sister for a date and convince her to beat the crap out of his son.
DefShieldDwn
Jack Thompsons gonna have a handful with this one, that prick.

Wow, that's just sad, I mean you would think a man in his 40's would know better then to let his anger get the best of him.

This is why NINTENDO is important to the gaming industry. Family friendly games teaches parents to play well with kids and local multi-player teaches kids not to go overboard with taunting because a good spaking is just an armsreach away. ;p

Lets think about this, and see who was in the wrong.
Mother: Most mature games (ESRB rater M) are for audience, generally 16+. This is due to the violence, lewd images, and language contained within the game, and its online version. So the mother really shouldn't have let her 13 year old child to play the game to begin with.
Child: He's 13 for Christ sakes. He shouldn't be playing CoD: BO to begin with, let alone the live version WITH A MIC! Also he shouldn't really be smack talking strangers online. Especially since you have no idea how old they are.
The Olde Dude: You're forty-freaking-six man. Grow up. You shouldn't be stalking anyone at your age. This is where murders come from. They can't control themselves, just like you. Also, when you noticed he was a kid, did it ever go through your mind that 'Hey, maybe he didn't know what he was talking about.'? Doubt it. Seriously, grow up. And don't be playin' CoD at 46... might have a heart attack.

I have a 13 year old daughter who loves to play games. She has a Wii and loves to play it. When she asks to play my PS3 I say sure. Then I take all the M rated games and my mic off the shelf. When she asks why I tell her "Two reasons." "One you don't know who your talking to out there." " Two these games right here are for adults."

im a bit dissappointed at the amount of support for the man im reading. im starting to think that most of the people here are immature and dont know whats acceptable beyond the internet. he almost killed a kid people, over a video game. dont support this bullcrap if you like playing games. things like this are the reason video games get protested in the first place. this should never happen. EVER.
tiltg3
Another good reason to avoid console. To easily accessable to smart ass children. Either way, I think he may have taken it a bit to far. IT'S CALLED MUTE!

lets see, Black ops is a rated M game. The guy is 43 years old he bought the game with intentions to play other well rounded adults that can play a game and be respectful. 12 year old boys mom gets annoyed one day because her son wont STFU about a game that he shouldnt be playing, so instead of being an actual parent and dealing with her child she buys him a rated M game. You cant feel sorry for the adult, well because .. hes an adult. but in all honesty i blame the kids parents.
I agree this adult should of realize his intention LONG before he got there.
I believe you shouldnt buy a game for a child when the title is rated M.
How did this guy get his address? if the child gave it to him talking bull thinking he just lying and wont do anything to him, isnt the child at fault? And for those that would say he does not know any better, that would be a good reason for him not to be playing a rated M game.
Many people are at fault and to believe that this is only the man that took actions fault is just not right.

is it bad that ive thought of this lol but thats the difference i did not act upon this thought
