46-year-old Mark Bradford has admitted to tracking down and choking a 13-year-old boy after the boy taunted him through the game chat in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
According to an article from wownews.co.uk, Bradford admitted that he "just lost it" after the boy killed him in-game. He proceeded to find the boy's address, went there, and started to choke him. He was only stopped when the boy's mother pulled him off her son. Bradford called the attack a "moment of madness." He admitted to one count of assault by beating.
I know emotions can run high in online games, but come on - this is beyond unacceptable. Have you guys ever seen or heard of anything like this? Let us know in the comments.

Seriously... games made me pissed off sometimes, and so do people online,but come on, tracking down, and choking a 13 year old kid?! what the hell? that guy should get in serious trouble. that guy should get Breaking and entering, and assault charges, for sure.

WTF! Don't get me wrong I've gotten pissed during multiplay but who doesn't? You have to be seriously mental to go out and choke a kid over a kill in a game.
As for someone harming another person in a video game, no, but I've heard some crazy stories in Korea which parents neglected their child due to gaming. And there was another scenario when parents attempted to sell their child online to fund their gaming habit.

That old man choked a kid off for talking smack in a game? How weak... dont get mad... get better at playing Black Ops.... practice. I've gotten my butt handed to me before on xbox live.... trash talking a plenty but never took it that seriously that I would need to harm another person. I think he should be committed and realize its a game. Yes we can blame the kid for trash talking but that is a kid... he is a grown ass man that should understand that there is a much harsher consequence for assault versus trash talking. The old man needs to grow up....

I've choked out a few of my friends when we play couch multi-player, but no intent to injure anything but their pride. You may be able to beat me in Street fighter or CoD, but lets take this outside and see if you're still talking trash.

I digress, yesterday I posted that this article was a good reason to avoind console gaming due to the number of smack talking brats on there. Who am I kidding, I love my xbox and I love Halo. Just had to put that out there, sorry for any confusion!

So my take away is this sounds like this guy knew the kid and the kid was saying some pretty bad things. I imagine the kid had thought the anonymity of the internet made it safe to be rude, but this time he paid for it. I don't think the man is in the right at all, but this is just one more instance of why we should have better accountability for in-game behavior. If there were a better accountability system the kid in question might not have provoked a seriously disturbed individual.

The kid was wrong for doing what he did, but the adult male had no business doing what he did, either. As has been said over and over, "It's a damn game!" Idiot, rude kids are one reason why I don't play multi-player games, but so are the idiot adults.

You know, after some of the grown men I played against the other night, I can see how someone might be driven to this. But really..kid is 13. Theres no excuse. Just because he was annoying as hell doesn't give anyone the right.

It's the kid's own fault he got choked. Trash talking in video games is really heavy these days, and some people take it way to far. The kid shouldn't have been a try hard and ran off at the mouth. Now while some of you on here trying to play the righteous man need to reflect and look back. If you play online games which im sure you do. You know when you are getting your butt kicked than some brat runs off at the mouth you are ready to go to his house and choke him yourself. (Don't lie and say you don't, WE ALL DO,) 99.9 percent of us, wish we could have been in the guys shoes, and choked someone who runs off at the mouth at us....Now im I right? However, I wouldn't care if the guy was round the kids age but he's 46 I mean he should have stopped when he seen the stars and rocket ships on the kids pj's. lol But they both got what they deserve. Guy goes to jail, kid gets a butt whooping by a stranger (will never trash talk over xbox live again) Look at it this way that yr guy saved a lot of gamer's from this kids trash talk.
