If you were a fan of PS3 game Heavy Rain, don't hold your breath waiting for a sequel. There is no series of quick time events that will convince David Cage, creator of the adventure game, to make a sequel.
In an interview with Develop, Cage said, "I’m not in this business to make money. I wrote Heavy Rain because I was excited about it, because there was something to say. Yeah I could make Heavy Rain 2, but I’ve said what I’ve had to say about it. That’s the strength of Quantic Dream, to have the capacity to create new ideas, to make something that breaks ground."
So no sequel for you. It's not like there was anywhere for the Heavy Rain story to go anyway, and that game was all story. Hopefully, Cage will continue pushing the boundaries of what can be done with a video game with his next title. As big of a fan of Heavy Rain as I am, I don't particularly want there to be a sequel, unless it's a Smash Bros. style fighting game, a cart-racer or a golf game featuring the tragic characters of the Heavy Rain universe.

Good. Heavy rain doesn't need a sequel. Unless it's a completely new scenario with new characters.
IMO, Indigo Prophecy was better. I'm still angry at that huge black, I mean, plot hole for a cheap plot twist in Heavy Rain. I was planning to replay that game, but finished it once and never went back, gave it to my brother because had his first child.
I hope David Cage gets to make the best project his team can possibly make within a reasonable period, but please, learn from your mistakes, and keep it up.

I think we knew that when they said no DLC due to the move for playstation. Matters not, I doubt people would buy a part 2 due to the lack if trust with this company again. To bad Heavy rain was a major milestone that screwed its customers by not finishing the story with DLC

It's not like most of the endings called for a sequel, anyway...

Nothing wrong with that. It was a great game and I am glad to see they dont want to run it into the ground for more $$$. Cant wait to see what they put out next.
