I have traveled many miles in the rain, without shoes, uphill both ways, just to ask you, the readers, for questions to include on next week's Feedback. Please, don't take this task lightly. Your questions are the future! Next we'll be talking about CoD XP's Rank Up program, Bethesda's legal battles and maybe we'll even throw in some Syndicate, that is if Adam can handle it.
Game of the week will be Rage. Have any questions? Come forth, and ask!

Please verify in the next show for me that G4TV will soon be shown on the Xbox 360. I read the article but its hard to believe, I don't want to get my hopes up again about something Xbox "says" they are going too do and then fail at doing it.

With all the talk of the new console generation, my thoughts turn back to a little piece of hardware that seems to be going the way of the Wii (collecting dust). The piece of hardware that I am referring to is the Kinect. Since I got it I think I have sent a total of a dozen hours on it and maybe three of those were playing games. Do you think that Microsoft will continue to push this piece of hardware in the next console iteration, the way that Nintendo refuses to let go of motion control, or do you think that they will let it fade into obscurity?

Could the reason why the ending of Rage sucked be because of DLC? Maybe they had to remove the real ending of the game so they could put it out later as DLC. ID hasn't made a game in seven years so maybe they were not prepared for the DLC phenomenon.

Syndicate is not how it should be! Adam! Get upset! Rant! Be angry!!
...but this brings up an interesting point. Many times your staff tell us viewers to give games a chance because Developers might change up the play style of a game. But when I hear Adam upset over Syndicate it makes me think, when was the last time you were in the position of the many unhappy readers/viewers/players, in that when a game was announced/released you were unhappy with it completely until you actually invested time to play the game and find its better points that allow you to progress into the game...or not? Has this ever effected your ability to review a game to the point that you could not write for it?

One of the advantages over a console when compared to a computer for games is the price. I was wondering with all the rumors about next generation consoles, do you think we will ever get a console that is honestly comparable to a high end gaming computer for console price(< 600). And by comparable i mean not only graphics but processing power as well, like physx being standard in console games.

Instead of spending 60 dollars on Gears of War 3 and then 10 dollars for the DLC is there just some way I can spend 70 dollars and get it all together on one disk because I don't have x-box live and am not going to get it because I live in an area with unreliable internet.

With the amount of content coming out this holiday season do you think that game developers are pushing the current generation of consoles to their limit? It seems like every new "blockbuster" game has its own version of a branded Xbox 360 and while this is meant to please fans, do you think that buying one of these consoles would be wise considering the next Microsoft product might be on the horizon? More importantly do you believe that the next generation of consoles will be made with games, like Rage seems to be, with DLC in mind or maybe even disc-less releases (like pc has). I would like to know what the Feedback crew would prefer to see in the next generation of consoles.

My questions is about Rage. We are used to seeing multiple disc RPGs like Final Fantasy or Mass Effect 2. Rage as an FPS is supposed to be a huge as well. Do you think developers intentionally set out to make such massive games and do you think Rage's size indicates a trend towards these longer, more grand experiences across all game types?

My question is in regards to beta's. It seems that beta's are a bit of a craps shoot that can either make or break a game. Just as Halo Reach & Gears of War 3 had very successful beta's that boosted sales, games like Medal of Honor & most recently Battle Field 3 seems to have hindered their sales. Are we looking at a future of developers holding their cards close to the vest in the future and making us gamble on pre-orders and first day purchases ( not to mention relying on G4 reviews). Or will those games that feel they have what it takes still take the gamble to release betas?
Thanks,
Lax

Have there been any DLC announcements for Rage?

My question is regarding game play.
I pick up Ico and Show of the Colossus this week and I'm playing them for the first time ever, and I notice something with Ico, that the fluency of the game play (Exe. walking around going up stairs) is so responsive and simple that I wonder why in newer games like ( exe. Dragon Age, Fallout, Oblivion, to name a few) don't have that. When I played those game I love them but I always hate that when I'm walking around and I just happen to be in front of a small rock or in the conner of some stairs they wont respond to what I want them to do, I have to go around it just to keep going forward. In Ico I notice right at the beginning of the game that I could go up some stairs and instead of going all the way to the top I could get half way and just climb on the edge and get to where I wanted to go without going all the way to the top of the stairs.
Why is it that in these new open world games the simplicity of just walking around is dictated in what I can not do instead of just what an open world game should be, the ability of just walking around and been able to just ( Exe. go over the hood of a car just because, climd a ledge for no apparent reason, climb over rocks to get to the other side instead of walking around them, jump from the edge of the stairs to get to the bottom instead of having to have to walk down the stairs to get to the bottom.)
Is there a reason for these or is it just me criticizing games too much?

Dear Feedback,
With DREADN0UGHT's comment about multiplayer and how it is reviewed, I wanted to ask more of a follow-up question regarding the amount of time spent on multiplayer. When reviewing multiplayer, there has to be a stopping point in which you feel is enough time spent to have all the necessary information to be able to review that portion of a game.
My question is: When is this stopping point? I understand that every game is different when it comes to multiplayer (ex: Call of Duty, Battlefield, Diablo, Star Wars, Guild Wars, etc.). I also understand that it is almost, if not completely, impossible to be able to get to the highest level within these games and experience everything before a written review is due. Do you have a personal stopping point in certain genres of multiplayer games that you make for yourself? Or do you keep moving on through a game and never reach a point that makes you feel like you have all of the information to write a review with? Also, did you ever feel like there was a game specifically that you reviewed that seemed to make you play further within that game than you normally do (Can be single or multiplayer games).

@logikfail, Thank's buddy i appreciate the sentiment.:)
Oh and sorry for the spelling error in my question. I did of course mean evoke, not "envoke". Damn you lack of spell check !.

@DREADN0UGHT Your question is amazing so I'l Repost it to get past this
"I'm sure G4 probably has a policy about not consecutively picking the same person for question of the week, but nothing ventured nothing gained i guess, so here goes:"
problem you might have.
What will it take for Games to finally be seen as an equal to Film and Literature as an art form in it's own right, and not simply the pastime of kids and "nerd's" ?.
Do we simply have to accept the fact that a game is never going to be the platform to deliver the emotional impact that a movie like "Schindlers List" can envoke, or equal the absorbing narrative of a book like "Gormenghast" ?. Discuss.
P.S. Adam, i'm totally with you on Syndicate. I never played the original, but i loved the sequel: Syndicate Wars. In fact i bet it's still lying around here somewhere gathering dust. (originaly asked by DREADN0UGHT)

Not that relevant to Rage, but since Battlefield 3 and MW3 are on the horizon...
Why aren't there any civilian NPCs in military games? What are your thoughts on this paradox of war games aiming for gritty realism but curiously erasing the problem of civilians from the battlefield, and why do you think developers are so reluctant to address this very REAL element of war in their games? I feel like if modern war games are ever going to evolve from a fetishistic power fantasy into something deeper and more involving, developers need to introduce this dilemma.

these days it feels as if multiplayer is necessary and without it you game is incomplete. for example Bio shock 2 had a great single player yet for some reason instead of improving the quality of single player they added a bad multiplayer. the PS2 lacked online but had great single player games such sas kingdom hearts,Dark cloud, etc..RAGE is a great single player game but for some reason they added multiplayer. do you think developers are starting to have the mindset that they need to have multiplayer?

Is it weird that video game companies announce their DLC before their games come out?

What do you guys think of the segregation of certain areas of the world? Regarding MMOs this has happend a few times recently, to name a few, Vindictus and SWTOR. Vindictus is US and Canada only while SWTOR has delayed the launch in certain areas such as Australia. They promise to deliver 'an exceptional service' when it comes up. Do you guys think that it will make a difference if they wait a bit or get it up and running with the rest of them? Also do you think their 'exceptional game' goal while segregating them is backpeddling a bit? Why can't they just use the Euro/US servers?

How do you choose which games you will talk about and which games won't get much attention?
Second question:
Despite this fall/winter season looking really amazing with games being released, very few, if any are new ip's. That being said are there any new IP's that you guys are particularly excited about? And should we be worried that in 10 years there will only be sequels for sale?
