Hey everyone! Look over here! This is what Syndicate looks like! The Starbreeze Studios-developed series reboot was announced years ago as the mysterious Project RedLime, but its identity was finally confirmed earlier this month.
The announcement was quickly followed by yesterday's February 2012 release date reveal and today's new announcement trailer. A gameplay-filled trailer, I might add. Cool weapons, cyberpunk landscapes, brain-draining syringes... it's looking pretty slick. EA will start showing the game off to the media next month, so expect to hear more soon.

I hope I don't play a terrorist in this game.

I still agree with Adam. Nothing currently will change my opinion that it should of been like its originals. I love tactically nuking a entire city to get my target or using a persuadertron to have a living meat shield around my agents. I am open to being impressed though, they will just have a harder time doing it.

I bow to the syndicate emperor for the ps3 game.

i don't understand why the great one adam sessler was so upset by a first person adaptation of this franchise that gameplay actually made me drop my jaw at one point. I'm loving deus ex and i can't wait to get my next cyberpunk distopian future stealth shooter fix in 2012. I'm looking forward to hearing more and can't wait to see what preorder bonuses EA is going to offer

Ok that game looks sick sci/fi shooter they did ripe off the bullseye from resistance though you can see that in the trailer but still looks awesome and a new kind of shooter not the same old same old. Plus it look like the experience i wanted from deus ex: HR

Slick look and lots of thematic throwbacks to the original (loving the Skrillex remix). Now it has to convince everyone of the following:
1) It's not just another shooter.
2) It's just as exciting as Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be perceived 5 months from now (I'm willing to bet they spaced this one's release out deliberately just to keep consumers from having to choose).
3) It's worth eschewing the RPG/RTS concepts of the original - though we are told this game has a co-op mode, without knowing more about the game's progression outside of the action, tough to say if this is true.
Arguably, its pedigree coming from the Riddick games and The Darkness means the focus will be on visceral, tactical (as opposed to strategic) combat. But in the trailer we do finally get to see what the Persuadertron looks like up close!
