We're closing in on Skyward Sword's D-Day, the swan song for the Nintendo Wii, and it's shaping up to be an interesting ride. Our own Nikole Zivalich spent some time with the new Legend of Zelda and spills the beans on the beginning of the game in her Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword preview. Here's a taste:
"Skyward Sword opens in Skyloft, a floating city consisting of bird-worshipping people who depend on Loftbirds for transportation. Their homage to birds is made even more clear by the bird statues littered through the level. Link is encouraged to "pray" to these statues in order to save the game. Loftbirds and their human masters are parts of a whole; they have an emotional connection where Link needs only whistle and his bird will be there. Think Avatar."

They're still developing and selling Wii games, just like they're still developing and selling Playstation 2 games. And then some.
