Shocking moments are one of my favorite parts about playing games. I love playing a story when everything gets turned upside down on me. Whether it's gut-wrenching emotional moment like in Final Fantasy VII or a truly evocative set-piece like in Call of Duty 4, shocking moments make the games much more engaging and ultimately fun. I'm surprised that the ending of The Shadow of the Colossus didn't make it, I seriously went wtf when I ended up turning evil and went WTF when the guy turned into a baby. I mean come on he was finally able to revive his love and his horse survived the fall, so he got everything he wanted but he was turned into a baby!
The other thing I disagree on is the MGS moment they picked for me the most shocking part in MGS history is at the end of 4. Not only do you learn the Ocelot was the worlds greatest herso by becoming the greatest villain but it also turns out that big boss was alive all along WTF?!?

I think the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days ending where Xion dies was sad. I cried. But laughed when Roxas said "No....Xion! Who else will i have ice cream with?" But i mainly cried on all 3 endings of KHBBS

No offense but The Gears of War 2 Scene had me laughing along with my cousin after he referenced Maria's look as a "Heroin addict" lol bad storytelling and voice acting. COD4 great scene I was depressed after that and made COD 4 one of the greatest games until MW2 came along and WW, BO, and all the downloadable crap. Ah my dear FF VIII no other FF has been as great as you, they have been good but not as great as you, and when Aeris died, was the second time I cried in my life while playing a video game. Great show.

not saying it tops the 7 listed, but the end of Resistance 2 was a good twist, albeit not exactly shocking..but good twist :)
what about the twist at the end of Borderlands?! like wtf no gold, but giant universe eating monster?!?!
or, on that i actually believe should be on this list...end of GoW2 you find that Zeus is Kratos' father?!?!

i surprised that red dead redemption ending didnt make the cut. that ending made me depressed as hell.

Oh yeah, and on a serious note, The Darkness had one of the most shocking moments, when your girl friend can't remember her name (Jenny I think?) gets shot right in front of you.

if Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic's MAJOR PLOT TWIST (i will not reveal it since its so incredible) doesnt win #1 i will be PISSED!!! (hint/SPOILER it has something to do with a dark lord and you)

I don't know why the Raven reveal from Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic didn't make the cut. It was by far way more shocking than any of those on the list.

i think the part in COD4 when your helicopter arrives after that one level with the barn house and the HDD uploading, once u beat that level then your partners all get killed and YOU are still alive, but then you see them pouring gasoline on your and your comrades, in that ditch, and they light it throw it at you and END SCENE, that was SHOCKING there...but damnit i ROO-INED KOTR2 for myself, oh well thats what the new one's for, :)

I really can't argue with any of these, though would you kindly is still one of my favorite phrases to date. I know the game is still new, but the final battle in Portal 2 had one of those great WTF moments too.

I'm a little surprised that Max Payne's Dead Baby in the Crib didn't make it.
Also if Dead Space's 'Sarah is Dead' was going to make it in I was going to call B.S. because Run Like Hell (which is basically Dead Space for the Xbox/PS2) had a much more shocking twist.
