Electronic Arts surprised us all a few weeks ago with news that Crytek's visually stunning 2007 PC release Crysis would be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles in October as a downloadable title. Now the publisher has confirmed a release date of October 4.
Yes, that's next week.
The game hits Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network one week from tomorrow, with a cost of 1,600 MS Points / $20. It faces some pretty stiff competition that day, particularly from Bethesda Softworks' Rage, but the more console-friendly control scheme and visuals should win at least a few fans over. If not, you can always hold off until 2012!

Rage, Dark Souls, Arkham City, and Battlefield 3. October is going to be a packed month. Sorry Crytek. Maybe in December.

Rage AND Crysis will take care of my entertainment needs for almost the entire month of October, at least until BF3 comes out, let the fall release madness begin.

why am I not interested in Rage?

luiskami, When you claim that a computer game MOST people can't run on maximum or even moderate settings as "hardly visually stunning" and then follow it up with a claim that a bland, redundant series like CoD should be more highly considered... I just stop listening to you after a point. I'm not saying you should love Crysis or dislike CoD, just don't throw your opinion around like a dirty diaper.

Anyone know how large the download will be, and if Warhead is included?
luiskami
Its hardly visualy stunning by PC gaming standards now days. Its a good game, but its not fast paced like CoD. Its all about knowing how to use the power suit instead of blasting your way through with weaponry.
