If you're into Japanese games and/or anime, there was a lot more going on that G4 didn't cover. My top two are Saint Seiya Senki, and Super Robot Taisen OGs 2. They even had a concert with JAM Project on the last day to celebrate Super Robot Taisen's 20th anniversary!
G4 (and others, too) have a bad habit of only showing games that are getting a US release (or are just plain weird). There's a TON of JP-only games that are completely ignored.
