Minecraft 1.8 'Adventure Update' Is Officially Live

Adam isn't actually here this morning; a close friend is handling his writing while he drools in a corner, hunched over his laptop screen and occasionally grunting out nonsensical words like "biome" and "Endermen." The latest update for Minecraft is here. I'm sure you can understand.

Version 1.8, also known as the Adventure Update, has arrived, though it doesn't add everything that Mojang originally promised would be included (as fans already knew would be the case). Notch calls it "the first half" of the new content, "with the remainder coming eventually," in a Word of Notch blog post. The worlds sure look pretty now though, and Creative Mode is a welcome, long overdue addition. Minecraft owners need only to launch the game in order to receive the update.
