Capcom switched things around a little bit for the upcoming Devil May Cry game, handing development duties over to Heavenly Sword creator Ninja Theory. The result, from what we've seen in clips so far, looks like more of the same over-the-top action plus a goofy new haircut for Dante, our protagonist. Not that I'd tell him so. Just look at all of those giant-sized weapons he's swinging around in this new trailer.
The latest trailer for Devil May Cry, which Capcom premiered as part of its Tokyo Game Show blast this week, finds Dante chopping and leaping his way through some kind of creepy carnival, among other locations. Looking pretty slick, Ninja Theory. The game is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime next year.

This isn't going to connect to DMC canon so for the people wanting it to be a young Dante of the old franchise might as well stop.
I see a weird stutter and pause in this game and I am sure it has to do with the UE3. This game runs at 30fps as opposed to the previous 60fps. Expect input lag and slow downs. This will tried to be covered with weapons flash and streams which we are already seeing. Expect less enemies on screen or less that actually attack when the environments have movement or are graphic heavy.
The half Angel/half Demon Dante has no ties to humans which takes out his reason to care for his human side as he did before.
No rebellion. DT stays as long as you stay in the air in which enemies are not attacking at the time. DT looks like Alice Madness Returns Hysteria Mode, again, UE3 for you. Nice detail, over saturated colors.
Useless reboot.

why is no one getting its the beginning of it stop being anal about a game you havent played yet stop getting so involved in the looks before you played the game

I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I'm worried about this. Ninja Theory's games have always looked and sounded good, but their controls have always been a little clunky.

I'll forgive Ninja Theory if they somehow miraculously connect this story with the main and original story (Badass Virgil, Badass Father, Being the Badass Twin Sons of Sparda, The Smexy Lady and Trish, and everything about the Badass Story.). However, seeing as there's this crap about "Angel and Demon Mode" (?_?), I doubt it. I myself like the combat, but stripping the already baddassery that the original DMC series was?..Not cool...

This crap better have some connection to the original story ~_~.......

One of the many games I'm looking forward to come 2012. This just keeps looking better and better the more I see it.

Never been a big fan of DMC but this game looks sweet. I'm glad ninja theory is making the game because heavenly sword and enslaved were both criminally overlooked titles. I have a lot of confidence in their combat and controls. Very excited for the game and to maybe finally enjoy this franchise with a proper reboot.

Yep, looks awesome. I'm interested to see where it goes, and if I end up not liking it, i still have the old games, so it's okay.

well unlike everyone else i am pumped for this game. ive only Played DMC4, so i could care less about lore and junk and poo. ppl gave off the same "omg he looks different" for Infamous 2, and they changed him back! (i think they shoulda kept him different) and FYI, ppl complained about turning Snake old for MGS4 as well. but look at how that turned out, possibly one of the best games ever made.
even in series where i care about the lore, if a dev wants to try and change the lore, i dont care, as long as the changed lore is good and not poopy (trying to avoid filters here)
none the less i will get this game.

Its dumb to change the lore of a game after you've made 4 titles based on that lore. I was okay when they were stating that it was a reboot, because that meant the original 4 games were still legit in the lore. but then they turned around and called this a prequel. which, no matter how much they want it to be, is not going to be considered to be canon with DMC 1-4 by fans. just like 2 is the "black sheep" of the series.
I personally would much rather have cliche, as you put it "Rocker" Dante than have "Emo" Dante. That'd be like Konami giving Metal Gear Solid to a western dev and them putting eye liner and dying his hair. Fans would be angry.
you can't say fans aren't fans just because they feel that a series they love is being changed dramatically, its a natural reaction. for the same reasons why people who like the original star wars trilogy hate the new one, they felt that it was too different.

It'd be funny if the game had a really awesome plot twist/device that explains the new look, even though Team Ninja already did (The reason being that they and Capcom want them to make a Ninja Theory game, not a Capcom game).
And honestly, if I had to sit down and play as DMC4 Dante for 8+ hours, I'd rip my hair out. The hard rock culture that inspired his character is gone, and his ego is now more annoying than I can put into words. I'd been rooting for a more subtle DMC3 Dante all along, or another game where Nero actually experiences character development, and concerning the former this new Dante is pretty damn close.
I don't really know why I sat down to explain this out to the haters, because I, along with everyone else here already know that in the end, most if not all complaints of theirs, no matter what intelligent-sounding spin they put on them, all boil down to "ZOMFG HE DUZN'T HAEV WHITEE HAAIR!!!!1!!". And game aside, because they're so stubborn and won't allow for even a slight change to the DMC lore, I can hardly even consider them fans. No, your series is not ruined, Capcom just thought they'd lend their series to some new creativity for a single game. Don't like what they new guys are doing? Then don't buy it, no one's forcing you.
Sure, I myself am gonna wait for a demo, reviews, and maybe even rent it first (gasp!), but that itself is showing way more open-mindedness than all of the hair-haters combined. However, if you have a legitimate reason to hate the game (after the two or so measly gameplay trailers we've seen... -_-), I applaud you.

I'm fairly sure, if memory serves, that Dante and Vergil were born with their white hair. and Dante NEVER had "Angelic" powers and his mom wasn't an angel. way to screw up the lore of DMC while butchering the new game.

it's just not the same. i couldn't get over the fact that it just didn't look right. Even when he had the white hair.
