Team Ninja has confirmed they're still doing what they do best: making kickass Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden games. During the Tokyo Game Show Team Ninja revealed they were working on both of their core franchises with two new games: Dead or Alive 5 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
Team Ninja won't be ignoring the handheld market; Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PlayStation Vita is set for sometime early next year. Little is known about Dead or Alive 5 other than it will be a multiplatform title set for 2012.
Editor's Note: This image was the first thing to appear when I typed in "Dead or Alive" to our image database. Naturally, I clicked it. It's not actually from either of the above mentioned games.

I came for the Bikini picture, and all I got was a ninja battle. What a let down.

i cant wait, Doa 4 started to tick me off, with the boss at the end... hope there are new characters (that are not as endowed in the chest as the other characters, to mix things up), and a New Dead or alive Xtreme that actually is playable.

Who is the target audience for Sigma for the vita? If you wanted to play Sigma you already played the hell out of it on PS3. I just can't understand the marketing decision. Maybe just because it is simple to port a few sales are enough to cover the costs.

I for one am glad to see that Team Ninja hasn't totally left the DOA franchise (the fighting series, not the *ugh* Volleyball series *gasp*, p.s. I'm a dude) out in the cold. I can't wait for DOA5 to return to where it was best on, the PS3. The NG series will always be one of the best, if not IMHO the most difficult and anger-inducing video game series to be created.

I just tried out Ninja Gaiden Sigma at Project A-Kon anime convention and it's just great. I even met both Yosuke Hayashi and Yohei Shimbori and have my photo taken and recieved their autographs. I just hope they will release more DOA Beach Volleyball.
