Everyone try to act surprised. Catwoman, who was confirmed as a second playable character for sections of Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City, out October 18, will also be a featured player in her own DLC release. If a recently updated GameStop product listing is to be believed, at any rate.
The retailer's product page for the strategy guide from BradyGames says that the book will include a "bonus" Catwoman walkthrough, with "complete coverage of Catwoman's DLC content... all four episodes" of it (via GamesRadar). There's no additional detail, but the wording seems pretty telling.
The mention of "episodes" makes it sound like Catwoman's DLC will be a bit more full-featured than additions to the game's challenge room modes. I'd wager that a fair portion of you were expecting to see some kind of more story-driven DLC for her at some point, especially since Arkham City's open-world environment lends itself pretty well to that kind of add-on.
While there's no further information available, the fact that the BradyGames guide will feature a walkthrough for the DLC strongly suggests that, whatever this Catwoman add-on is, we'll be seeing it pretty close to the game's launch, perhaps even on day one.

Where is the Robin 2playable character? Make this a multi-player coop game that batman and robin & and/or catwoman and give the Fans what they want a sweet superhero 2player coop game local & multiplayer online as well as offline co-op!

DLC is good and all but why is it that we can never get our hands on the actual game first before hearing about DLC. For once I would like a game to come out and be able to sit down and play it for a few days before hearing about DLC.

Rocksteady did excellent by us last time with Arkham Asylum and it's completely free dlc. I will gladly buy whatever it is they put out for this game. Gladly! With Bells!

This is why I mentioned eariler in the week that I'm hoping that Rocksteady will release the DLC for free in the future. I bought Arkham Asylum from Gamestop the day it came out and I enjoyed the Dem Bones arena. When I saw that it was on PSN about 1 1/2 month later, I thought that was a good move on the developers part. But this sort of sucks. Red Robin for Best Buy and now Catwoman for Gamestop. *sigh* :(

While I'm not too keen on paying extra for it, I have no problems with DLC that is truly "EXTRA CONTENT" to an already outstanding and fulfilling game, and not "STUFF WE CUT OUT OF THE ORIGINAL GAME RELEASE TO MAKE MORE MONEY WITH DLC" or "HEY, THESE ARE A BUNCH OF OLD MAP PACKS FROM PREVIOUS GAMES, BUT WE'RE GOING TO CHARGE YOU A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT FOR THEM."

Well considering that she was supposed to be in the game (not challenge maps) then I'm not really surprised. Makes you wonder if they are going to put out some Robin DLC considering that he has different gadgets and moves but he's only on challenge maps.
