This new trailer from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword shows off the Wii exclusive's new upgrade system. Basically you'll find things while fighting enemies and you can use them to upgrade your items to make them stronger. Aside from the Big Goron Sword in Ocarina of Time I'm pretty sure this is a first for the Zelda series, and it's something I'm very excited about. I love collecting things and getting the best items possible, so I can't wait to try this out.

It seems the puzzles and overall difficulty in Zelda games has plummeted. The series has become more "kid friendly". On a plus side, the art style isn't all bad in SOME areas i've seen in trailers so far, albeit all the cuteness and loveable looking enemies.

AlttP definitely had upgrades but not material based. It was more like, get money, save people, wish for crap, get upgrade. This is pretty kool

As long as it isn't anything like the RPG style upgrades in Zelda II for the NES, maybe it will be OK.

Sweet! Grinding mobs for drops, just what I always wanted in a Zelda game. Thanks Nintendo!
