Electronic Arts shocked gamers everywhere last week with the word that yes, our consoles will in fact run Crysis. The previously PC-exclusive first-person shooter that released in 2007 will be coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next month as a downloadable release, and a newly unveiled trailer touts some of the changes.
Players can expect to soak in some new visual effects in the console version of the game, though it's a safe bet that the highly scaleable PC version is still going to outdo it at higher settings. The game will also feature new Nanosuit controls. No details on how that will work, but Crytek is hopefully using the suit controls from Crysis 2 as a model, as those worked wonderfully with a console gamepad.

Meh, the console version is going to have less impressive graphics, not such open world and less things happening on the screen at the same time than the PC version, since the console version of the first Crysis is going to use the engine of the second game.

This is what happens when you have 4 years to optimize the utter CRAP out of an engine.

i dont see the point of this coming to console. the only thing crysis really had going for it was that it was a beast graphically, and a huge step forward. but gameplay wise, it wasnt anything special. with consoles you take away the graphics...But, I'm all for more people playing it, it's still better than crysis 2

I passed on purchasing Crysis 2 because I wasn't all to convinced on paying full price for that game. But now with the original coming to consoles as a downloadable game, I think I can shell out the 1200 MS points for it to see what all the fuss is about.
