Last week was home to a deluge of news on Atlus' Persona series, including word of Persona 5, an enhanced PlayStation Vita port of Persona 4 and, most bizarrely, a 2D fighting. There's a trailer out today for that last one, which is being developed by BlazBlue and Guilty Gear studio Arc System Works.
It certainly looks... sort of nuts. I never got around to playing Persona 4, but the art style here certainly seems true to the art released around the original game. Note too that although this game is called Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, it seems -- based on the presence of Persona 3's Aegis in the trailer -- that characters will be pulled from elsewhere in the series. Look for this one in 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
